Square Enix's Avengers

Got this from my boy matt man tonight.
From the sounds of it it seems to be more RPG in style. Sounds like we will be waiting a while before we get any concrete details on this one.

The Avengers Project Rumored to Be a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Reboot

[YT]rq_V6WHSmQs[/YT]

New rumors pertaining to Marvel and Square Enix’s The Avengers Project suggests that the game is a reboot of Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance games.
Marvel and Square Enix announced the project back in 2017, but other than some slim details and the above trailer that have been revealed, there’s not much known about the game. According to the latest rumor though, the “full reboot” of the series is one that’s comparable to the scale of God of War’s latest game that sharply pivoted from the hack n’ slash gameplay of the previous games. IGN Germany reported on a rumor that originated on 4chan from a user who provided details about The Avengers Project and the supposed plans for the reboot.
“Cutting to the short of it: ‘The Avengers Project’ is Avengers: Ultimate Alliance,” the 4chan leaker said. “But it's not just Ultimate Alliance 3, it's a full reboot with the name on it (think something like the new God of War, minus the story continuity: similar name, totally new gameplay/story structure). That's the reason why the tagline of the first teaser was 'Reassemble', to hint at it being a reboot. This is also why the previous Ultimate Alliance games got uprezed recently for current-gen."
The user elaborated on the game’s story which reportedly includes an event that separates the superhero team even more so than they were in Captain America: Civil War.
“The game takes place from the perspective of multiple Avengers after a cataclysmic incident broke the team apart (think more Dissassembled than Civil War), but there are 3 which are the core focus: Captain America, Iron Man, and Scarlet Witch (who you heard in the trailer). They aren't the ONLY playable characters, but they are the leads of the story. Gameplay wise think a mix between Uncharted and Infamous
Info shared in the 4chan post also mentioned that the game will have “connections” with the PlayStation 4’s exclusive Spider-Man game with both existing in the same world. The post also references a Guardians of the Galaxy game that Eidos Montreal is reportedly working on.

There’s no confirmation that these details are correct though since neither Marvel nor Square Enix have announced such plans to reboot the Ultimate Alliance series. We do know that Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics are indeed working on the game though, a game that’s confirmed to be the first in a “new multi-year, multi-game licensing agreement to develop and publish original games based on beloved Marvel Super Heroes,” according to Crystal Dynamics’ product page for the project.
A release date for The Avengers Project has not been announced.

Is it possible that Marvel Heroes assets could be used in this game?

I call BS on this rumour. We are definately getting something at E3.

BTW this is another rumour which comes from a guy who revealed the Marvel/Square partnership before it happened.

https://youtu.be/JnNwmU-tbBk

Main points:

Big news is that the embargo of the xmen and f4 have been lifted for crystal dynamics and eidos ONLY. Apparently Marvel VS Capcom infinite being a massive failure is a big reason for this

There is player models for majority of the xmen including colossus and Deadpool

Player models for F4 and Dr Doom while also there being a modeled Latveria

Square Enix loves the xmen and is very interested in having them get their OWN game and reusing the assets from avengers project for it

There is 70 character models planned to be playable but it not necessarily for avengers project at launch. Some may be for post launch content and sequels if the game does well. Not to mention the xmen models are probably for their own game.

Wolverine IS playable but that is the only xmen his source saw in the gameplay

Very epic infinity war scale battles

Egypt, Wakanda, attilon, Hell’s Kitchen, New York, latveria, and London all have approved concept art and some even have playable environments

There are plans to release episodic single player content focused on a single character so you have more info on what they’ve been doing in this NEW marvel universe
The episodic content is what the micro transactions are being experimented for, so you could buy a daredevil pack which contains a mission or missions and some costumes

Costumes and episodic content as XP boosts are the only thing planned for micro transactions CURRENTLY

Very loose rumor so don’t give it much thought since it’s not from his source but the game’s budget is around 200 MIL

Square wants to support the game for 3 years max and have sequels supported for several years but it all depends on the game’s success

Sony is in talks to have exclusive costumes or costume and early access to Spider-Man episodic content

Split screen is possible but currently no plans, but it doesn’t mean it’s ruled out

The game has been in development since 2015. Marvel didn’t want to announce it until they had hit a certain milestone

The game WILL most likely be at E3 and there MAY be a teaser for it before Square’s booth but the teaser is just talks

Release is still planned for fall 2019 but marvel is pushing for a summer release to capitalize on Avengers 4

Every hero is planned to have 6-8 costumes

Micro transactions are NOT final and may not even happen

Title is “The Avengers” or “Marvels The Avengers”

Possible Title cards for big dlc’s, events, or episodic content coming down the road include Siege Of Asgard, Hell’s Kitchen, and civil war

Ultron and Masters of Evil are some of the villains

This is speculation but Kang MAY be the MAIN villain

Completely original story and nothing will be a 1 for 1 adaptation. So the civil war dlc/story will be crystal dynamics own take at the idea

No guardians at launch as they will get their own game from eidos which has a window of a 2021 release

They’re experimenting with heroes having unique combat. So if Hawkeye punches an enemy they’ll just stumble back, but if Captain America punches an enemy they’ll go flying back

No symbiotes but venom has approved concept art

Big updates and content monthly
You would do your raids and weeklys/daily’s throghout the month
Some of this stuff may not make it into the game at all

No create your own character

Unlockable costumes

Micro transactions MAY include XP boosts but nothing major

Costumes may have unique animations and effects/powers but nothing major

Not MMO

Not overwhelming

If a character flies, you’ll be able to fly

It’s hinted that Spider-Man is probably a teenager

Kree MAY be part of dlc

Nick fury is in the game

Not ALL of this will be at launch may not ever become reality

Team up moves

You’ll move in a team of 4

Game can be played by yourself but they’re pushing for you to play online because it’ll be better online

Cinematics are in engine

All characters have unique dialogue in cinematics

Tie in content like comics are being discussed

Combat is supposed to be unique for every character

Skill trees

If a marvel character has appeared in live action in the last 18 years then expect them eventually to appear

2 or 3 expansions/big dlcs planned a year

Negative zone has approved concept art

Expect graphics and art design to be similar to rise of the tomb raider

Multiple big open worlds

Third person over the shoulder

Approved concept art for thanos but it isn’t for avengers project specifically. Most likely that it’s for the guardians game

Launch roster is still not decided

All new original costumes and looks for the characters

There is another guy confirming this stuff. I REALLY hope all of this is true as it sounds great.

The only X-Men I would expect to see in this is Wolverine and maybe Beast for the simple fact that its called Avengers. The rest may appear as NPCs but I dont expect any beyond that as playable

hmm.....depending on how this game turns out, this ( and DMC 5 ) could potentially steal my interest over a Rocksteady Superman game.

just as long as it's not an online only, MP focused deal.

hopefully we'll find out soon.

Sweet. I hope that plays out and we get some news next week.

I would love it if they used the Luminous engine.

This sounds like the Marvel Multiplayer game I have always dreamed of. Time to start praying at least half of that is true.

Love those rumours! Hope they turn out to be true. This game could become a mainstay if so.

Thank god for the no micro transactions rule. That’s what I’ve always hated about the app games, I would rather pay a bit and get a lot then grind for months just to unlock willie lumpkin or something

It's hard to believe rumors when it's so much information out of nowhere.

The Youtube guy has given info since April. The video I posted is a collection of every piece of news he got from his 'Marvel source'. But yeah it sounds way too good to be true. I posted it for you guys for some fun speculation.

I can't take it anymore! I'm gonna pull a Cartman and freeze myself till this game comes out.

When we will get some actual footage and gameplay?

They said we wouldn't hear anything until 2018. Theres still a sliver of hope for the Sony conference.

Well, that was dissapointing. SE's showcase was downright laughable.

Oh well bring on 2019
Hmm,well they did announce a few motnht ago where other dev's working on their project were from or their partners so it mean they were that ready yet it might still happen just poosbly not at E3. I guess they wanted spider man to have all the spot lighgt right now.

So Shaun Escayc from Crystal Dynamics liked my tweet about hoping to see this baby at SDCC, hope it means something.

I'm not getting my hopes up again but it would be awesome.

SDCC seems like a good time to do a big announcement for this game. Hoping we get to see something good!

Marvel doesn't do SDCC anymore though, right? They do Disney Expo now, or is that just for movies?

I think that only goes for the movies. They are skipping a Hall H panel this year, not forever.

I think only Marvel STUDIOS is avoiding Comic Con. Insomniac hinted they'd be at SDCC this year with Spider-Man (PS4)
