Superman Returns SR's Sequel to start shooting in 2007!Singer Not Directing Logan's Run!

I like Singer, but it's been a long as time since he's directed a smaller movie like Apt Pupil or Usual Suspects. I think he should get back into something like that, THEN direct Superman 2..

But if that happened then the WB might not want to wait & the same thing that happened to X-Men 3 could happen here & the same thing that happened with Superman The Movie & Superman 2. I am glad that Singer is sticking to this franchise & will hopefully try avoiding with what happened with X-Men 3 & Superman The Movie & Superman 2

If Zod is in any of these movies...that would suck. Who is a afraid of a monotone, old wrinkly guy in a beard? I want to see an intimidating villain. The only problem I have with the theme of "a world w/o Superman" for Superman Returns...is that I wanted to see that theme used in a movie where he dies (that would be truly original for a superhero movie, kids would leave the theatre crying) only to pick it up in the sequel, and see how the world has moved on...then see Supes come back from the grave. I think that would have been a more interesting proposal for that theme.

when i was a kid i found Zod quite scary actually...

...it all depends on your point of view. many people associate elderness with experience and wisdom, and as we all know, some of the most dangerous villains are also the most intelligent.

you ask who's afraid of an old wrinkly dude, well now you have to ask yourself......who's afraid of some middle aged, bald dude?

I'm not afraid of Lex Luthor. I'm afraid of his inventions and plans...

I think Brainaic is the one villain I want to see.

However, since Singer didn't do too much research here, what version of Brainaic will he have in the sequel? The polo/panties wearing green alien or the android from the WB cartoon (the best version)?

Android, 99%.

I like Smallvilles Braniac  It is going to be hard to top James Masters Braniac that is for sure

Too bad, Logan's Run is actually the perfect movie for Singer.

Doesn't Fox have the rights to Logan's Run? Maybe they don't want Singer to have it following the X-Men debacle?

At anyrate, James McTeigue would be pretty damn good for Logan's Run too.

Kryptonian Android.

Although I personally would rather see Metallo in a sequel.

For those who have interest in Singer doing LR, nothing is set in stone.
I think everyone should simply read between the lines.

"...although the filmmaker probably won't make an official decision either way about "Logan's Run" until "Superman Returns" bows in July.

Assuming Singer's take on the Caped Crusader is a crowd-pleaser, Warners plans to start shooting the sequel in the later part of 2007, with Singer again at the helm."

You could call this a "back door" press release. Meaning, it leaves an "out."

"Official decision" means: If the film is successful, all is set to go.
"Singer's take" means: If any certain aspect is not [successful], count on Singer debunking to LR.

And hey, I thought Batsy was the "Caped Crusader"??

;)

call it misinformed reporting....Supes has been called the "caped crusader" many a time by the general public. i guess the "caped wonder" is just too hard for them to remember...hehe

This is great news, must mean that Singer already has something in mind for the sequel? I'm hoping Brainiac for the villain.

OMG, SR have $185m budget. So if it doesn't make more than $250m, it will not get sequel.

There is big difference.

And 20th Century Fox are stupid, that is why they are making FF2.

WB is goint to make BB2, because it had success criticaly and made $200m. BB's budget was only $150m.

So SR have to get more than $250m. My predictions are $318m.

Dude WB is stupid they make movies that they know is gonna bomb before even making them and attach a huge budget to them. If anything FOX is the most sensible studio for making movies right now.FOX and SONY. WB = :down :down
