Love it!
I pretty much agree with him 100%.
Keep already made characters the same gender, race and sexual orientation that they have always been. If you want to force diversity instead of actually practicing it then you can add new characters. I feel like it seems more fake when people change someone's character just to be diverse. Diversity is more than lining up people and choosing the same amount of people of each race or religion. It is making changes and doing things not based on a characters race or gender, but instead on what is helpful to the storyline and plot. If it is important to a grand storyline that a character be changed and it happens to also make the cast more diverse, go for it, but don't decide that you must change people based on race or gender etc.
