Looked pretty darned good...as has just about everything I've seen from this show so far.

I surprise there no Princess Leia, Han Solo, or young Luke Skywalker..........I guess for a future season......Will this lead to the events of a new hope?

I can see them bringing in Han Solo to the show along with Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt. However, they will not put Luke and Leia on the show because they have no purpose being there. They're supposed to remain hidden from Darth Vader and the Empire until A New Hope.

The first few minutes felt very Aladdin-like...got me worried. But soon after it really started feeling like Star Wars...the dude even shot a Storm trooper point blank in the face.

I think this show will be on par with Clone Wars...which I LOVED.

It'll take some time for me to adjust to the animation style. I loved the look of CLONE WARS (particularly the later seasons), which had an almost painting-like quality to it's characters and backgrounds. Everything was very bold, stark and rough. REBELS, from what I've seen so far, looks softer and more...round? I'm definitely not over the moon with the visuals at the moment.

Though given the creative team behind the show, I'm sure it'll be great.

Pretty good, but what the hell is up with that audio mix? It's messed up.

Vocals are extremely loud and favor the right side speaker. Music is often way lower in the mix.

Loved that preview. Definitely has the SW feel :woot:

People where getting killed, point blank head shots, shots to the chest and blown up by live grenades on a Disney Channel and Disney is showing that as a preview to the whole world to see.

Awesome.

Yeah, people say it's more 'kiddie', but then you got Stormtroopers getting killed left and right. And according to canon, these aren't even clones. They're recruited civilians; the question is: Did they volunteer or were they forced into it? That makes it more complex.

Stormtroopers are like any soldier on the "wrong side".

They think they're fighting for security and justice but they're actually supressing essential freedoms and human rights..

Not sure how to feel, though it definitely was a bit of a massacre. :funny:

I am not liking the looks of the lightsabers or their gimmicks, though I am curious where they are going to go with this show. Especially considering the two "Jedi" have to die before the end.

We thought that about Ahsoka and Captain Rex...
Well unless they are going to make Yoda, and now potentially Abram's a liar, there needs to be only Jedi in the galaxy come RotJ and perhaps 30 years later. I guess these two might not "qualify" but Ahsoka does, and perhaps we will finally see her end in the new EU canon. I hope they don't try and "fudge it" and imprison or hide them.

I remember someone on the RebelForce Radio podcast...might have been Paul Bateman...speculated that the series could end with the crew of The Ghost arriving on Alderaan just before Tarkin's "demonstration."

First seven minutes were awesome! October can't get here fast enough. Erza seems like a very interesting character, although I'm more interested in Kanan and Sabine. I wonder if Erza will be someone in Episode VII? Most likely not, but its interesting to think about.

Ezra is literally Aladdin from the Disney film. :funny:

In all likelihood is that they will simply not address it; with the implicit understanding that they die after the show ends. After all, majority of animated shows get cancelled rather than get a definite finale.

I have to say, I actually like what I saw.

Though... the sound stuff could use some work. I assume it will before the big day.

That is a sad, sad truth. Thought with Disney now owning Lucasfilms and running it on their channel, I think we have a good chance of seeing the true "end" if you will.

I'm more interested in Ezra now than I was initially. Kanan is still the one I want to learn more about the most. Cannot wait for the A New Dawn book

Great video. I think people are still doing the stupid "Disney is making things for kids" when this clip shows it's hardly the case. Yes it goes for kids, but it's made for all ages including adults like us. Ezra is the same age as Ahsoka and she is one of the best characters. I liked everything I saw in that clip. Man this will make waiting for Episode VII easier with this show on.

IGN - STAR WARS REBELS EXCLUSIVE CLIP SPOTLIGHTS CONFLICT IN SPACE

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/08/08/star-wars-rebels-exclusive-clip-spotlights-conflict-in-space

As this clip -- from a larger Star Wars Rebels short called "The Machine in the Ghost" -- shows, Kanan and Hera don't always see eye-to-eye, even when they're in the midst of battling TIE Fighters... which puts the ship's droid, Chopper, right in the middle of a conflict over which emergency needs to be dealt with first.

You can see the full version of “The Machine in the Ghost” after Gravity Falls (9:00 PM ET/PT) on Disney XD on Monday, August 11th. This is the first of four all-new Star Wars Rebels shorts that will debut on Disney XD on Monday night over the next four weeks.
