You could say, That's what you DO! :D

I see what you did there... :hehe:

I'd love to see it translated to live action.

Dude...take my money! :wow:

Indeed! I can hear the swoosh of the speederbike just looking at the pic. :awesome:

That sound design is among my favorite in the saga.

Really don't like those skinny lightsaber blades.
Same here. I am hoping it is just for Rebels' art design, and not a new direction they are going that will show up in the ST.

Somebody gone get dey @$$ kicked! Somebody gone get dey wig split!

Heh! :D I wonder if it could be part of the snow planet the final battle is rumoured to take place on.

Hmmm...it's my understanding that some of what we see in Episode VII may be introduced in Rebels, so it's certainly possible.

Man if I was still an admin I add that smiley! :wow::wow:

Fantastic smiley

lol...I was actually looking for an emoticon with a speeder bike, and came across that one. Kinda awesome, isn't it?

Just saw the SWR shot that was on tonight, and Chopper is awesome.

I love the OT feel this show has. The Williams-esque music, the comedic elements to it.

I'm watching the Rebels "movie" right now.

So far off to much better start than The Clone Wars got.

Will update this post when I finish.

Also the sound is mixed properly unlike the opening clip they had on Youtube before.

EDIT:

Just watched the Rebels Spark of Rebellion movie.

I liked it a lot. Much better a start than the 2008 Clone Wars movie.

It exceeded my expectations. Music was great, the CG animation (not my style) was better than I was expecting, there was not monotonous action which was something that irked me about TCW. There's quiet moments and the movie sets up all the characters, mostly in relation to Ezra. There's quite a bit of death as a result of the actions taken as well but handled in a PG sort of way.

Overall, a very good start.

EDIT: Some vibes from this

Just saw it as well and I agree with the above in terms of vibe. While there are a few flaws here and there (mainly the bumbling Stormtroopers), it was still a fun rump with potential for something far greater.

NY Times - Empire Renewed

................

Although “Rebels” looks expensive — Lucasfilm declined to talk numbers — the creative team was clearly aware of working on a budget. “We liked the idea of focusing on a small group of people, in part because it would mean fewer big battles that would cost us a lot of money,” Mr. Filoni said.

Mr. Plunkett, the art director, added, “We avoided long hair, which is not easy on a TV schedule and budget.”

At times, the “Rebels” crew found itself a little too close to the original “Star Wars,” Mr. Plunkett said. The Ghost spacecraft, for instance, initially looked “too on-the-nose Millennium Falcon-flavored,” he said. So the final design shifted toward a diamond shape.

“It’s still reminiscent of the Falcon, but that’s O.K.,” Mr. Plunkett said. “The Falcon isn’t the only pickup truck in the world.”

He credited Disney with influencing Chopper’s final design. “They worried he looked too much like R2-D2, and they were right,” he said. The sidekick droid initially had a round head; now it’s shaped like the bottom of a bucket.

Although Disney and Lucasfilm expect adult fans to watch “Rebels,” the series is very specifically aimed at children. In other words, the tone will not closely resemble “The Clone Wars,” which ran on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2013 and was at times less a fun animated romp than hard-edge drama. Mr. Lucas famously used “Clone Wars” to comment on whatever was on his mind; multiple episodes explored the global banking crisis. (A Lucasfilm spokeswoman said Mr. Lucas, who is retired and was given a “Rebels” screening this month, was not available for an interview.)

Disney hopes “Rebels” will finally put the five-year-old Disney XD on the map. The channel, aimed at boys 6 to 14 and available in 80 million homes, has lacked a breakout hit, with the somber “Tron: Uprising” a particular disappointment.

“We spoke to Lucasfilm extensively about including more comedy,” said Mr. Marsh of Disney Channels Worldwide. “The comedic element is what’s going to make ‘Rebels’ break through.”

I'm just getting into the clone wars show, is rebels made by any of the same people?

I just saw the first episode. Watched it with a bud that had the Disney XD Watch thing they announced this week to see it a week early.

Really good start.

With TCW it took me almost an entire season to start to like and get into the characters. This seems like they've learned from their past and made even a better begining of a new series. Love all the charcters, what little time we get to spend with them. The biggest low is I wanted more. I loved the design, it feels like you are in a painting most the time. The "feel" of it is very ANH like. I love how they have really pulled from some of the original sound designs. I got excited to see Obi-Wan, I really hope we get to see him and Vader in the future.

You can tell this will become something big. But it's nice that "Spark of a Rebellion" really starts small. I have a feeling this will do this so we can invest with the characters. But all around Filoni continues to do great things. I actually think Simon has brought a great deal as well. It has some some great lines and awesome action. Most of all you really want to get to know the characters more so.

Now I have to wait more than 2 weeks to see the next episode, but it feels great to be back in the SW universe with new tales.

The only lows of this episode was that I felt the designs of the wookiees was a little off. Other than that a superb start to this series, it will be great the deeper it gets.

9.0/10.

Pros:

Great characters, great sound and visual design. You want more by the end.

Lows:

The Wookiee Design was a little off. And a few throw away lines here and there.

Overall:

Great first episode it leaves you wanting more, which is a good thing. A great start to the next wave of SW we are entering.

I thought "Spark of a Rebellion" was a really good start for the show, I liked the dynamic of the crew and the set up for Kanen and Ezra to have the classic Master/Padawan relationship,m I also really like the style of Sabine! :D Looking forward to her backstory.

I agree with Solidus that the Wookie's looked poor but other than that the show was visually nice and the sound design was very much ANH from the swooshes to the little music cues, which took me back to my childhood.

On the villain side of things the Stormie's were maybe a little too goofy but I dug General Kallus, I think he is going to be a great addition.

They had already given away the best action sequence with the speederbike chase but the ep flowed well and paced it's action nicely while the set up promises great things to come, plus we saw a bit of the Spice Mines of Kessel! :D

I thought the Stormtroopers were awesome, except, you are right there is one part that I kinda cringed at, and that was on Kessel, and what Agent Kallus did with the Stormtrooper on the ledge. That was a little goofy. Maybe it was more of the animation of it.

Just watched it. Definitely enjoyed it :)

Awesome show, Weisman continues to never let me down.

I saw the first episode and Solidus is right - I wanted more!

It sets the tone, and it feels like an intimate small beginning that leads into a bigger adventure as the show goes on. I can't wait for that!

My only nitpicks: I like the character designs, but because they're not as heavily stylized like The Clone Wars (which masks the limitations of TV CG work), you see certain things that aren't as polished as the previous show. Hair being one thing, which made the Wookies here look worst than the way they looked in The Clone Wars. Also, I think when you see the close ups on certain characters like Erza or Kanan, I hope they can had more details on the faces, which I think will happen as the show goes on. Otherwise, their faces are too plain for my liking.

But I like the swashbuckling tone, which harkens back to the Original movies. I really think this is giving us a small taste of how the new film trilogy will be like and that's exciting!

Just saw it I really enjoyed it had pretty big expectations for the new series and I must say it lived up to most of them best thing disney has going for it in the animation department.

Biggest I could find at the moment.

Is that traditional art? I like that a lot. As beautiful as some of the cgi animation is, I wouldn't mind seeing a star wars cartoon in the traditional 2D art style.

Have the figures for the show come out yet?
