Rebels Star Wars: Rebels

I've come to terms with the abrupt ending of CW, just because they did end it brilliantly, but yeah, having these two shows together covering different eras would have been awesome.

Love what i've seen of Rebels so far, so i'm looking forward to what's coming :woot:

As far as the PT goes, i just dont see Disney messing with it much anytime soon. In the future? who knows.

Hey, Bim, have you seen the four new unfinished Clone Wars episodes they posted at starwars.com yet? Lot's of Obi-Wan goodness!

Very nice to see the Droid from Star Tours in Ep.#2. Really liking the show

Loved Droids in Distress even more than the previous episode. I'm so glad they renewed this already for season 2.

Lots of great things about this episode. I love how they brought back the traditional "animation/movements" of 3P0 in this. In TCW he was too animated. This they made him more like his true stiff self. I also love that they use John's score more in this show then they did TCW. Loved the Imperial Walkers in this.

Thanks for this. I hadn't realized this show had already started. Just caught a re-run of "Spark of Rebellion" and was just about to go looking for the next one when I saw your post.

I was waaaay too late to the Clone Wars train, so I'm happy to be on board with this one from the beginning. It also seems to be off to a stronger start than TCW was, so that's encouraging, too.

So did anyone else get the sense that Kanan and Hera might be a couple? She did call him "love" at one point and they did seem rather close.

"Love" like "sweety" and "honey" and "darling" etc are used among platonic friends. I know Ive heard the British use "love" in a platonic way, and even use it when addressing people they aren't in a relationship with. Herra and Kanan are certainly close, but her calling him "love" isn't much of an indicator of a relationship beyond friends. We'll see tho. Its definitely something the show could develop. That's if Disney is interested in something like that. TCW had some love subplots and relationships, but I do wonder whether this new show will be lighter and skirt adult storylines what with it being on DisneyXD.

The "Machine In The Ghost" short hinted that the two of them were about to kiss before Chopper interrupted them. I'm pretty sure they are in a relationship.

Starting around the 2:37 mark:

Just finished watching "Droids In Distress." I wasn't really expecting them to show some familiar characters this early in the season. I thought they would want to establish the crew of the Ghost and their enemies before bringing in the more familiar faces from the saga. Good to see them, though...it was another fun episode!

Agreed

I absolutely loved it. It captured the feel of the OT and to be honest I think it may have met or exceeded the quality of the Clone Wars series.

I liked, not bad at all. I'll keep watching it for sure.

I still miss the TCW though. :(

No problem! I know your a big Obi-Wan fan and it's a cool 4 episode arc with Obi-Wan and Anakin. It's too bad they never finished the animation.

I just watched Droids in Distress -I am loving this show!

The episode felt like an homage to Droids, which was cool.

Anyone remember that show?

The walkers were different than the ones in the O.T, right? They had rounded parts on the side of the cockpit -an earlier version?

The walkers shown in the episode were AT-DPs based off concept art from 1979 and similar to the AT-ARs seen in some of the Dark Horse comics and Galactic Battlegrounds video game.

Just seen Droids in Distress. Man, this show is amazing! Glad I called Zeb and Ezra developing this kind of loyalty to each other. I hate waiting for new episodes! Wish this show was on Netflix.

So, I'm assuming Organa will have seen and now know about other surviving Jedi. I wonder if he gets word to Obi-Wan or Yoda, some how.

I was wondering the same thing.

Wow, this episode was REALLY good.

It's going to be really interesting to see how the series intersects with the rest of the Star Wars universe. Will they run directly into Vader? Will we get to see a little duel between Kanan and the Dark Lord?

This was also a much needed improvement over the premiere, which lacked sufficient character introductions...

The focus on Zeb and his race was really poignant, and one of the best aspects of the episode. Not to mention that touching on genocide is pretty mature for a kid's show. But I'm not surprised. That and other forms of oppression will continue to be explored, I'm sure.

I didn't watch it as a kid, but I did download a few episodes of what I think were VHS rips a few years ago. Seemed fine for a young audience.

This last episode just seemed a nod to it. Which I thought was pretty cool, since it's the original Star Wars cartoon.

3P0's animation was pretty crude but I enjoyed episode 2, The structure of the show with the team's missions feels very much like Firefly, but the locations and the wonderful music cues are pure Star Wars. The fight between Kallus and Zeb was good and it was great seeing Imperial Walkers. :D

I've yet to watch this, but whats the deal with the episodes being available online?

I thought the new ones aired on Friday's?
