I felt so sad when I realised I'd come to the end of the comic

Updates tomorrow though apparently, I'm hooked already

Tis the first thing I do on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays online. I can't wait til they get to the original trilogy in about five years

I'd say none. The intro says the Luke is in preparation to train a new order of Knights, so his school still hasn't opened. Which would mean he's still the only Master.

They're may still be some Master out in the galaxy that survived Vader's purge, but they wouldn't be at the school.

I've spent the last two and a half prepping a created character app so this thing better get off the ground

You know, looking at the season intro again, I'm wondering if 5 years is too long between episodes.

Perhaps this should take place 1 or 2 years after ROTJ. Gives the New Republic enough time to get the new government started, but leave it still brand new. With all the problems a new government must deal with. It also give the Rebellion/Republic enough time to oust the major holdovers from the Empire, but leave a good chunk of the Empire intact, yet scattered.

It also means that characters like Luke and Leia suddenly find themselves removed from their old comfortable roles in the Rebellion, and thrown into new roles like Minister of State and last Jedi Master.

Well, maybe we should hammer down how much time has passes since ROTJ. I'd prefer something closer to the end of the movie so we can use those as the basis of the game, rather than the Expanded Universe (which many of us may not have read much of). This way we're not tied down to the EU, but we can still use it as a basis of what's to come, just in our own way. Sort of like how in OU we use comic history as our basis, but put our own spin on the origins.

Making it even nearer to ROTJ, as you see, makes a few problems. In my opinion we should make it even further into the future.

I don't see why you would have to have read the stories after ROTJ for the RPG to be further into the future. I haven't read the books, but if if this RPG is only a few years after ROTJ then I'm going to have to pass. I thought it was in the future long enough for Luke's school to have been around a while.

Even as the intro stands now, it says Luke is preparing to start the school. And I'd think starting the school would be a big thing for whoever's playing Luke to miss out on.

Which is why I won't join. Maybe I forgot about reading that part after JB and I tossed around ideas and I came up with something I could do. But my character wouldn't make sense unless it was at least like 7 years after the school started to be the right age since they start as children.

Who says they have to start as children. Seems like if one is building a new Jedi Order from scratch, one can't be too picky. Especially since Luke himself wasn't trained until he was older.

If course, this may also lead to some interesting...situations.

I was also thinknig that if we are to throw out the two Sith rule to garner some decent bad guys, then wouldn't the first batch of students in the new Temple (Talking within 5 years of ROTJ) be a bit rag tag anyway? I can't really see Luke having much to do raising a bunch from babies to adulthood :/

Luke started late, as did many in the EU, so why not have the first batch in the New Order be whatever age the handler feels appropriate? Plus, it's pretty well established that not ALL Jedi were dead, many simply went into exile or stayed underground.

Personally I don't see a problem in bieng able to play as a Jedi or potential Sith within the 5 year timeframe, you just need a plausable story.

**** why don't we just make this a Jedi Academy RPG simliar to the Westchester RPG (OK so bad example beacuse it outright failed but you get the idea)

I get ya. That's the biggest hang-up of every attempt at a Star Wars game: everyone in the friggin' world wants to be a Jedi, and those who want to try something else get kinda stuck with nothing to do.

(Says the guy who's lobbying like hell to play Luke)

There's no need for a new Jedi trainee to be a child, since, as was stated above, the new Jedi Academy would be kind of starving for students, meaning that they'd take anyone who's a Force Sensitive, even though they're not a child.

And just so it be noted, my character will (eventually) be a Jedi Master at the Academy.

My thoughts exactly, I'm gunning for a mercenary/spy that may or may not be a former jedi.

Actually come to think of it, if we're using the 5 year gap he wouldn't have even been a jedi yet. So Force sensitive spy

I didn't want to be a Jedi when word first started of this RPG; believe me. But when I saw that the type of characters I originally were interested in wouldn't have been any fun unless I had good guys to interact with...I decided to create a Jedi with JB's help.
