Corp...I can just feel the seething tone in your posts...
That's because I think the Sci Fi Channel's management is stupid and I have nothing but contempt for them. I'll be glad to see them change the channel's mission statement and call it Beyond because, frankly, no Sci Fi Channel is better than the cesspool of mediocrity it's become.

I don't take anything Trek fans say with any level of seriousness....according to them, every successful sci-fi franchise owes its existence and adoration to Star Trek....

Maybe Trek fanatics. I'm a Star Trek fan, but I don't consider it the be-all, end-all of sci fi TV.

MASSIVE SPOILER for tonights episode

Whose behind the suit? you'll be shocked

and it sucks that SGA won't be able to continue this(unless it is a future movie)

First Contact is a ratyher good epsiode..... but i'm kinda blown away with the clip for Loat Tribe.......

Wonder if they'll link it back to Ripple Effect?

Good episode. The Asgard never even crossed my mind. Awesome reveal.

And is everyone going to copy Iron Man's helmet displays now? :p
First it was Iron Man.
Then Middleman used it.
Now Atlantis.

Oddly thought, I'm not complaining. I think it's pretty cool. Like Iron Man has made a lasting impression.

Asgard were definately a surprise - specially as i never watched normal stargate - i thought the asgards were alies and still alive and all...

not pray, but one must respect the parent of all TV based sci fi
pfft! I think you'll find Doctor who started first... and was heaps better!

Lost in space, the twilight zone, the outer limits, buck rogers, flash gordon, captain video, and Tom Corbett- space Cadet, all came before Star trek...

p.s your latin sig is awesome!

Is it just me, or did Daniel seem... un-Daniel-like in these last two episodes?

You can even see the start of the Borg in the Cybermen. They are all about "assimilation" of people and making them Cybermen.

Is that how the original ones were though? Cause in those they just killed people from what I have seen.

I don't know for sure how new the idea of assimilating Cybermen is but I have seen old storys on a Cybermen ruld planet with half assimilated people on it, I think it was Attack of the Cybermen first broadcast in two weekly parts from 5 January to 12 January 1985.

yeah, but none took it to the scale that trek did. It's like Star Wars.... once it came along, virtually all space adventurer movies dissappeared. It took a genre and poored enough money into it to make it huge and pretty much become the representing patriach of the genre.

it's taken sci fi a long time to shed trek stigma... now if GL would stop shoving SW down our throats, sci fi as a genre would have a chance to grow, free of last generations winners.
