State your opinion on a game.

I never played it until 8 years ago when I met my friend who absolutely loved it. It is a great game and so much better than Goldeneye in every way.

MGS2 is a notable upgrade in gameplay from the first, and I don't mind Raiden. I enjoy it more than MGS3

Never heard of the other two, don't care

Good day

Uncharted 3 is a great looking game, great story, great ideas, but I played right after beating Arkham city and noticed the controls lagged and loathed it whenever the shooting sections came up. My opinion is that Uncharted 3 is overrated, primarily for the two aforementioned gripes.

que pasa?

Ohhh that'll be a good one.

As a concept i think its tough to argue that Assassins Creed wasn't fantastic. Its just the execution left a lot to be desired that was (thankfully) corrected in future installments.

Overall, when i played it, i loved the game. I had been waiting for a game that took place in that time period that had good sword to sword combat and AC delivered. Also the game was GORGEOUS. That first ride in to Jerusalem i think, breathtaking. I didn't even really notice the flaws much until my second and third play-throughs. The game has plenty of flaws, but i still think its a solid game and am thankful that is was as successful as it was because the sequels have also been really awesome(altho admittedly it started to stagnate a tad. ACIII will correct that tho)

For me AC is an ok game. I enjoyed playing it for the most part, but it gets a little repetitive. Actually the same could be said for AC 2, although it was a better game and the missions were more varied. I also don't like the combat that much, but i enjoy the story and the settings of Assassin's Creed games.

I'm looking forward to AC 3, i even started Brotherhood and will buy Revelations because of all the info/trailer. Overall, i like these games but i'm not a huge fan.

Not a bad game but so many annoying things in it that I really never have an interest in replaying it. Plus ACII improved so many things that it makes it even harder to go back to it.

As far as Assassin's Creed, I remember when I first started seeing videos of the game in action, I was pretty blown away. I remember there was a chick doing play by play as she was showing the game, and I thought that I wouldn't be able to get down with the control scheme that they chose for the game. After playing it, I found it to fit quite nicely, AC is definitely a good game, one of the few that I think every XBOX or PS3 owner should have in their collection. Their choice in locations and the way Altair looked was pretty badass, definitely wanna of those games that made you feel like a sneaky bastard lol

Amazing concept, some solid gameplay but overall its alright

Based on people's reactions, I skipped right over it and went on to Assassins Creed 2.

This part of what Pat said

Game is the poorest installment of the franchise, it's an average installment in a great series

The AC franchise intrigues me so much. I love the concept, but it really lost me due to the first game. About a quarter of the way through, I just became bored with how repetitive it was and quit. It didn't help that the whole modern day, sci-fi backdrop was really off-putting to me. I never played any of the sequels because of this. I want to. But I can't get through the first game.

Anyway, I'm not sure if we have to wait for Soapy to start a new game or can just give our opinions but I assume it's the latter, so here goes. My opinion on this game has always been controversial....Shadow of the Colossus, overrated.

Assassin's Creed is the epitome of a diamond in the rough. It introduced a lot of new gameplay mechanics and concepts, but just couldn't deliver on their promise. However, I was able to easily look over the game's flaws because the idea of an open world game set in a historic period and make it look and feel historically accurate seemed so novel and interesting at the time. I'm not sure I could ever go back and play it again though.

I hope one day Ubisoft returns to that setting with all the improvements they've made to subsequent AssCreed games.

You really should play Assassin's Creed II. I honestly think it's probably one of the most improved sequels of all time. And you really shouldn't let the first game keep you from playing the others. ACII has a video in the beginning that catches you up to speed. Plus, even you don't like the sci-fi aspect of it, you can just focus on Ezio's story, which is fantastic.

You can do what you want. Talk about the games I post, talk about the previous ones I posted, talk about games that no one has posted about yet. I don't care. I'm just trying to generate some discussion that doesn't involve new or upcoming games.

I see. Perhaps I'll give it a try. Does ACII better incorporate the sci-fi elements? It isn't so much that they bothered me...just the way it would cut to them and WHEN it would cut to them. It was more a pacing issue than anything else for me.

 :funny:

It always felt like the video game equivalent to an art house Oscar-bait movie to me. The plot was nonexistent (and it's defenders always use some B.S. argument about a minimalist approach to justify that), the game play repetitive (Ride, kill, repeat) and nothing in between. It was 16 boss fights and nothing else. :(

I don't know if this helps you or not, but AssCreed II doesn't jerk you back into the "real world" nearly as often as the first game, and when it does there's a bit more to do. You're not confined to the Animus. You can get up out of it and talk to the characters, and there's even a few action sequences in the modern portions of the game.

I'm not recommending Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, but AssBro even lets you switch back and forth between Desmond and Ezio any time you want.

So it seems NasFiasco didn't do wrong

I'm yet to play this game

Since we had some talk about sequels to AC1, Brotherhood is my favorite of the series so far, cause:
  • You're allowed to ride horses in the city
  • Tunnels for quicker transportation
  • Desmond has a better role than get on/off the animus
  • Davinci missions
  • Parachutes
  • They got the "save civilian" mission back, but this time it comes with a good use
  • Factions can still be hired, which reminds me of the upsetting thing about muscles who say they aid in the first game :argh:

Don't forget your Assassin's in training, I thought they were really fun to use.

I like the first Assassin's Creed, but like many have said it was flawed, the developers had a great and imaginitive concept. However, the story structure and the way you progressed in the game was anything but imaginitve. Thankfully that was fixed in the second game. I really don't regret buying any of the games in the series, I feel the small improvements in Brotherhood and Revelations were worth the price. I do hope though there's a similar leap to 2 and 3 as there was for 1 and 2.

Assassin's Creed impressed the hell out of me. I didn't mind the repetitive stuff, it looked gorgeous, and the setting felt really unique.

It was also the game I was playing when I switched to an HDTV, so it was all the more mind blowing. :yay:
