I think he is a fan of RE4, I think he means it was a better direction to go than what came after and didn't retread what came before.

The game itself is fine, its Capcom's attitude towards its success is what hurt the franchise.

If I had designed RE5, I would have cut down on the action and incorporated more of the series survival horror roots which is what The Evil Within looks to be (which I'm ****ing stoked for.)

From RE5? She was designated to holding my stun baton and my ammo. The tacked on co-op was awful.

I never gave that aspect of her any thought. She was a forgettable character from a forgettable game.

Eh, it's been so long since I went through that game, I honestly don't remember that much about it. I recall the co-op being awful, the game generally being substantially easier than its predecessor, killing Wesker in a volcano, and being really pissed that I paid 60 bucks for it.

at least there WAS coop. i shelled out $60 for modnation and that was teh worst half a hundred dollars I ever spent my money on

Shiva was fine character-wise although we didn't learn a huge deal about her but the co-op AI was crap on the hardest difficulties.

I don't really want to play RE with friends, I feel it contradicts the concept of the original game.

Yeah, more or less. Though I think RE4 is far more RE than "old school" fans will ever give it credit for.

My biggest complaint with RE4 design wise is being able to purchase resources. Made the game easier than it should have been.

I don't mind playing RE5 co-op as the game suits it more but 1-3 wouldn't be right. Co-op would take away from the atmosphere and I can't imagine any game where ammo conservation is relevant to be too much fun with a non-talking random in co-op.

I have played my share of FPS. I don't think Halo is overrated as a franchise.

It's made me buy consoles. The only other game that does that is Zelda.
