State your unpopular video game opinion...

Fallout, Skyrim, Oblivion, the usual 1000 hour games. :p

I love those sorts of games. I take my time explore the world and the people I've spend 100s of hours on Morrowind, Oblivion and now Skyrim.

Strangely I hate MMOs, I guess I don't like the other folks stealing my thunder or ruining my immersion. Its fun when I can just play with my son or when I played with my late wife but I just prefer single player. I play with other folks in my pen and paper RPG campaign.

I would kill for a TES style superhero game.

That would awesome, you could be a hero, villain or anti-hero and do quests accordingly.

I haven't played the game, but from what I've seen, Destiny looks mediocre. A generic Halo knockoff (Yes I know it's by the makers of Halo) The commercials try to use rock music to make it seem 'hip and 'cool' and it just makes me

It has no personality. It's just looks like Halo & Star Wars mixed with Call of Duty. The characters are incredibly generic.

That's just my impressions from the previews. For all I know, it could be a really fun game, but the presentation and world just lacks creativity and feels bland, IMO.

And the graphics don't really look all that impressive either. This game is on Ps4? Pfft. I feel like it can be done on the 360.

I'm not even sure I'd call that unpopular because in a lot of ways that's what the game is like :oldrazz:

You're not wrong about that. It is on the old consoles, and it doesn't look significantly different than the new console versions.

****ing cross gen games...

Wow, IDA with you guys. I was impressed with Destiny's visuals in the PS4 alpha. Game looks fantastic

I think Steam will end console gaming as a whole. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo cant compete with the value that Steam has to offer.

Not really. Sony/MS/Nintendo will move to digital distribution as well. I truly doubt that will happen. I'm actually wondering if the Steam Console will ruin Valve. They don't seem as confident about it as they first did.

Do you use Steam?

Yes. I do.

Then you understand the value of the service . Valve also isnt the only company making Steam boxes, it isn't as big as a gamble as you may think. Sony and Microsoft can't compete with Steam's sales.

Problem is, that is not destroying the sales of the consoles. They may have "sales" but the Consoles are having more AAA games that are no longer coming to PC or doing so much later.

As a hardcore PC gamer during all the 90's and the early part of this century, the amount of big companies working on games is much less. The Indie scene is thriving on the PC but it's starting to spill out on the PSN/XBL as well because well...it's a big install base as well. Also PSN+ is starting to have great deals as well.

So ya, I doubt we will see consoles fold to just Steam.

Oh. I thought it was a Ps4 exclusive. A lot of the ads for the game promote the Ps4.

Well looks like the plan worked bc PS4 sold about 1 million more than the X1 version and nearly 1.7M and 2M more than the 360 and PS3 respectively. That doesn't include the PS4 bundles

Arkham Origins is the best Batman game.

The Uncharted series is *****.

Quantum of Solace for the xbox360 is one of the greatest shooters ever.

Steam isn't a new thing, it's been around for years. I don't think it's suddenly going to kill consoles.

I'll be here all week:hubba

I guess people aren't nearly as bored with console gaming as I am. I think triple A gaming is stagnant. The majority of the games I play these days are hitting PC first.

I can't get into MMOs at all. I'm not the sort to join clans or anything. I just like to run around and do whatever but most MMOs you need to buddy up or join a clan to actually do anything.

that's cool but people like you are likely in the minority. When game's launch the majority of sales come from consoles. yeah Steam has amazing sales, but that's not stopping people from getting those same games on the consoles, even if they cost more money. The X1 and PS4 both had record numbers when they launched last year. Console gaming is far from going extinct

Sonic Unleashed is not a bad game. It's not a great game, but not terrible like so many people say.

The Ps2/Wii version was bad, but Sega put a lot of love into the 360/Ps3 versions. (The graphics in Unleashed are superior to Sonic Generations, thanks to the Hedgehog Engine) There's a lot of replay value with the extra missions and unlockables. You can upgrade the Werehog's stats to perform new attacks, and I enjoyed the storyline, weird as it was. Chip was a welcome addition, and not at all annoying like other characters (Vector, Cream, Silver)

It didn't have the long load times or glitches of Sonic 2006 and the voicework was better than prior games. (Jason Griffith really improved his Sonic voice in this one.)

I understand how some people hate the Werehog. I didn't care for him either, it's a terrible character design, but once you get used to the change of gameplay, it's kind of addicting. I spent about a week trying to max out the Werehog's stats.

Maybe I'm a little biased because I'm a Sonic fan, but I don't think Unleashed really deserves to be in the same category as piss-poor games like Sonic 2006 or that spinoff starring Shadow..

The Uncharted series is *****.

Wow. The 3rd one I admit was a bit scripted and linear, but the 2nd one was a lot more challenging, had a better storyline, and took much longer to complete. You really didn't like it?

Wow indeed. That is the most unpopular opinion I've read so far.

My biggest problem with Uncharted is Nathan Drake. You spend nine or so hours littering the streets with corpses and he's supposed to be the good guy. At least Lara is disgusted by the actions she is being forced to take.

I'm not a big fan either.

Lara is shown to be disgusted in the beginning, when she does it for the first time. Then she's just like Drake. Nathan was hesitant to do it in his first time too, when he was just a kid.

Lara isnt the one cracking jokes.
