The Dark Knight Step Right Up / End of Jokers Interview

There was another scavanger hunt. People had to go to certain locations (which were bakeries) and get something out of the cakes over there, or something like that.

Slowly but surely the clock ticked away, and we got ourselves a teaser poster

And tickets to a trailer...if you live in like 3 cities.:csad:

so, I don't know if people are still talking about it or not but I will.

I'm pissed.

I left University of Maryland - College Park the second I realized that DC had a cake. My friend and I left for the metro, which is a 30 minute ride to the bakery. At around 3:30 we arrived at the bakery to see a sign on the door saying the cake for "Robin Banks" had already been picked up. Ok, so they spelled the name wrong, no biggie.

Well I decided to walk in and ask the lady at the register when the cake was picked up. She told me the cake was picked up at 2. WHAT!?! Doesn't that seem impossible if it was posted on the viral site at 2 that there would be a cake at this location.

I walked out to talk to my friend and we decided to ask for details about what happened to the cake.

She told me that someone called her to put up a sign at 2 saying the cake was picked up. So I asked her, does that mean the cake is still here. She replied by saying no, it is no longer here. She described what the cake looked like, whatever that proved. And then a few minutes later told me that she was the one that delivered the cake. That was her closing. So my assumption is that the people that worked there decided to horde the cake assuming it was worth something. She did not mention at all people coming to ask about the cake.

I wasted 3 hours of my time to go get a cake that was basically impossible for me to get.

I am calling bull****!

Someone emailed me a link to this and I thought I would register and clear things up. I am the one who got the DC cake. I just happen to live a few blocks from the bakery (Firehook Bakery on Farragut Square) so I was able to get there within a few minutes of the address being posted (I got there around 2:05 or so).

I've been reading through this thread, and just wanted everyone to know that the reason it took me so long to call the # is that I was waiting for my roommate to get back from class (I told him I wouldn't cut open the cake without him). My apologies if anyone made the trip thinking that the cake was still there.

I did not mention anyone else coming for the cake, I just acted like a regular customer. So if they were told to put up a sign, it wasn't by me.

i hope they show the trailer AND the imax first 7min. i know theyll show the first 7min for sure since its at the imax theater. maybe we will get posters n t shirts or joker cards (we can hope)

I'm sorry can one please clear up how this was seen in August? I'm confussed

1. For those that actually expected a trailer or some sort of video footage today, I have to say "Wake up and stop being so stupid." They do these viral games to give the hardcore fans something to do while waiting for the movie, this doesnt make you any more important or special then the casual fans that have to wait til the 14th to see it. They are NOT giving out the trailer to you before then. Its a business move, grow up and learn. If they give it to even one of you it will be on the internet and half of the country will have seen it by tomorrow. How much ticket money from "I Am Legend" do you think that will cost them????

2. For those complaining about the poster, its a teaser. Wait 10 days and you will get to see more. Alot more. Then you can sit on your ass and wait 6 months for the movie to come out.

3. For those complaining about the IMAX showing in certain cities, to quote Harvey Keitel in Pulp Fiction "Move out of the sticks fellas!" They put it out there for major cities, if this makes you feel like your city is less important because its smaller then good....it is.

4. Regardless, both the trailer and the 7 minute video will be leaked onto the internet before Christmas hits. Just have some patience and stop crying.

zenbird,

I did something similar... you can do it again and even use the same name just with a different email address.

Liam, (and soluscanis82) you have helped me! And I am grateful. :)

Great suggestions. Now to find a babysitter for Thursday....:oldrazz:

On another board that has a post dated in August a user has linked the poster however most people believe that the post was edited (or perhaps the file replaced) with the current poster

So to be clear; the IMAX screenings will show the prologue. will anything else be offered?

And what about the cake-phones? Think there will be more to come for those people?

Wise words. But people will always find something to nag about. If not, what else would they be able to do?

Nope, just more *****ing, as usual. Poor Nolan and comp., they can never satisfy these people. :(

take away everything you were here for before, except the *****ing and complaining and you should be all set.

Amen. I was at work waiting for everything to transpire. I work in Greensboro, NC and halfway thought that there was a possibility of a cake at the bakery within a 5 minute drive from where I work (as I'm sure a lot of people thought). I was a little irritated that everything was happening in the north and on the west coast, but it makes sense. I know a lot of people were pretty aggrivated with the guy in MN that had the last cake and couldn't redeem it quick enough because of the snow conditions.

Guys, it happens. If there is anything promotional to do with this movie, we will all reap the rewards eventually. So what if we just got a poster? It is an amazing looking poster (and very fitting). This is a promotional campaign. If there is something worth promoting and spreading word about the movie, we will know about it. That's what this is supposed to do (and I'm sure a lot of you guys have talked to someone about how cool this marketing was to somebody that doesn't even give a crap about Batman).

Just sit tight. There is no way things would have ended for this game this soon. There is a lot more that is bound to happen between now and the premiere on July 18th (which is a great gift for my 26th birthday!):woot:

People still dont seem to get that they didnt have to give us anything. We could have had no pictures, no sound bites, no websites, etc. They could have done like every other movie, and just released the poster, and been like "f**k you, if you want to see the IMAX buy a I Am Legend ticket." But they didnt do that. They gave us awesome games, pictures, sound clips, a huge array of sites, and free tickets to people who live in major cities to see the first 6 minutes of the movie at private screenings. And people are still ungratefull idiots.
