Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

I actually think the show has improved, but I can't see them dragging this premise out for two whole seasons.

They could easily pull off two or more seasons (I'd rather they don't go for a full decade as CBS tends to do, though). I just don't buy the "they could be under that dome for years!" proclamations. If the show goes on for multiple seasons, it'll be a compressed schedule like LOST. What could be years of the tv series is only weeks/months for the characters.

Poor Barbie, restraining the urge to kill moronic Chester Mill *****ebags, surely they could have let him kill the murdering would-be rapist, although I get the feeling Jim will be taking care of that anyway. At least Julia slipped him some tongue for being a good boy.

I like the rivalry they are setting up between Jim and the guy with 3 teeth.

I guess Angie is going to have to take that deal under the circumstances, to be honest I wasn't sure that Rose wasn't going to sell her out to the Jimster as it was.

:funny:

The actor playing 3 Teeth Man almost always plays bad guys.

I think the only time Ive ever seen that actor play a good guy was in an episode of Star Trek: TNG. He played a human that underwent cryogenic sleep so that he could be awakened in the distant future. His character was kind of a hokey type. Kinda like 3 Teeth Man.

I also thought Rose might have sold Angie out. Guess we'll never know now.

OK, I thought of this as a joke last week, but does anyone else think..

that the kids kissing helped protect the dome from the missile attack?
Definitely an interesting idea. The kids being related to the dome is an interesting change from the novel which definitely seems to be linked to the endgame.

Somebody needs to make a comprehensive (and frequently updated) list of the differences between the book and show. I've never read the book personally but, I do know the who and why/how of it all. Dunno how all that stuff would work here though without being incredibly goofy

At this point my theory is that The Dome is from an alien origin and is meant to protect a sample of humanity from a galactic disaster ( the stars are falling ).

Yeah, but unlike Alcatraz, it doesn't have a stupid format, and unlike The Event, it doesn't have a nonsensical timeline.

The show is getting better now that there is more of the "humans are the real monsters" storylines like the Well Guy.

Next week looks intense

This felt like a real turning point episode. The kinks that shows usually have in their early episodes have been worked out, to an extent, and the story is fired up enough that it should be pretty smooth sailing right into the finale.

That's my theory as well. I have a bad feeling that the actual reveal won't be anywhere near as smart as that though.

Halfway through and the pace is picking up, although I wish Big Jim was just more evil. Quite frankly, the dome itself is rather boring and predictable
(even in the one life for another equality)
, so we need some over the top badassery on display and we need it now. We don't have many episodes left...

I think I accidently came across a spoiler about this season's ending:

The dome just....leaves!?

Please, no "yay" or "nay" on if that is correct.

If it is though: BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Can't believe they already found the generator. Figured that'd be a little bit longer of a wait.

So far, I'm enjoying the show. It's not as good as the book, which was one of King's best, but it's entertaining. I'm loving Dean Norris as Big Jim, and I might be in the minority, but I'm loving Joe and Norrie's storyline too.

Yea the two kids have the most interesting story definitely.

The kids story is interesting but to me their chemistry and line delivery is cringe worthy.

:whatever:

Says the guy who wants Heroes back. :o

Psssh you know damn well if it came back you'd be right there for the premiere. And you can't tell me that there isn't an unbelievable amount of unintentional comedy here. I can't help but start laughing at something in literally almost every scene. And you know, just because I want Heroes back doesn't mean I don't understand or acknowledge the problems it had or where it went wrong. And yes I know you're just being a smart ass, I'm not dense

Eh, I acknowledge that the acting hasn't been the best up to this point, and the writing hasn't helped a whole lot, but I think there have been alot of shows where the actors and writers take a little bit to get in sync with the characters. This was the first week yet where I really wasn't put off by any of the regulars. Well... most of the regulars. "Lets kick their teeth in!" Shut up, Junior. :o

And there's no way Heroes is roping me in again. That ****ing third season ruined the entire experience for me.

Yea I will say that this week really was the first where I was rolling my eyes less. I dunno what it is about King adaptations though, you can really see it no matter who is writing or directing it it all just feels so King-esque

How's this show going? I gave up after the second episode. Couldn't get through.
