I thought of a great way to improve the show. Kill off the mother. Now, this isn't some petty "she's boring, kill her off!!" arguement.

Think about it...the loss of the mom would create a whole new emotional dynamic for the family to work with. The kids and husband would both change. They would have more of an edge. Jim would probably get more obsessed with his job and while he would love his kids, they would also be a reminder of his loss.

The death of the mom/wife would only serve to improve the characters.

This show would be more interesting if they had flashbacks every other episode or so on other characters lives before they came to Terra Nova.

Excellent episode this week, really enjoyed the Mira and Taylor interaction and the survival element, plus the stuff with the spy being revealed was a surprise and the little kid giving back the baby Dino was cute.

I had that same feeling about Taylor telling half truths. If they ever decide to write him off god forgive them because I'm gonna find it very hard to continue watching.

Same feelings here but we didn't heard the Sixers and Lucas side of the story yet.
Taylor appears to be a man of honor, harsh but just.

Yeah that's how I feel.

After this weeks interaction between Taylor and Mira I'd say he was telling the truth, which I am pleased about.

Didn't the daughter ran a DNA test in no time in the past episode? they need 24h now?
(wich is unbelievable considering they technological level...)

The sample was extremely degraded, that is why it took so long.

I believe the mother said that it would take 24h because the blood sample was so small

Seems that the less screen time given to the son the better the episodes tend to be.

Sounds like Fox really screwed things up for the first half of the season...they are only now getting more freedom to make longer story-arcs.

The one this I really did not like about the last Episode was if this blood sample was so important... As soon as the Mother said it would take over night, why would he not post guards in the room. oh well.. have to move the plot along somehow.

Strange how no one is truly bad on this show.. everyone has a reason for doing bad things.. her brother is being held.. her Mother will die without the meds, Doing it for a daughter back in the future... Even the Bar guy who deals with the 6ers is not a bad guy.

I suppose that one Scientist guy who took another's Identity was the closest thing.

Thought the new episode was by far the best of rthe series, but that's not saying much. Had plenty of dinos, and the face off around the campfire with nothing but knives tied to sticks was pulled right out of an issue of Xenozoic Tales(Cadillacs & Dinosaurs)... and considering that's my favorite dinosaur tale of all time, I was in full on nerdgasm mode. They even lit the dino on fire! It was practically panel for panel. But who cares, it ruled. Unfortunately this show is probably never coming back after these next few episodes... just once I would like a dinosaur show to both last and not suck.

I don't think this is very strange. This show is a fluff show, not gritty and hardcore. The essence of the show is about starting over and doing things right, protect the planet, setup a utopian society kind of deal. Truly "bad" people would not really fit in so we have people who do things for the wrong reasons and don't like themselves for doing it.

I think it more of a reflection of real life rather the reasons you described. There are very few truly good guys and bad guys in life, that is why the saying " the road to hell is paved with good intentions" still rings true.

Lucas really is a *****e, I mean we don't know the full story but he's still a pathetic man-child with daddy issues, and he's creepy to boot.

Good episode to take us into what hopefully will be the season not series finale.

I'm glad at any rate that it all shook out that Taylor was telling the truth and he isn't the bad guy, he's the backbone of the show and needs to lead. It'll be interesting to see if they have time for a quiet scene with him and Skye to talk over things next week, before all hell breaks loose.

Eh, this week's show did a 2.1/6 in the important 18-49 rating/share. Not good...maybe if finale rises to a 2.3-2.5..

I like the show...but I wouldn't be sad if it got canceled. I think it just needs to go another route for next season...if there is one. Too much time spent IN Terra Nova and not out in the world.
