I understand some of you think the film is great, and that's fine, but don't insult us or our intelligence if we don't feel the same way. We feel that after a three years waiting for this movie, an ultimate payoff should've happened to the 100th extent degree.

::bangs head into wall::

NO ONE is telling you that you can't complain. We have a 'didn't like the movie thread.' We have 'who's to blame thread.' We have 'did X3 kill the franchise?' thread. You can complain to hearts content in these many available threads.

NO ONE is trying to insult your intelligence. It's OK to not like the movie. It's ok to feel like you've been screwed. Go ahead! Complain away. You have your reasons and there are plenty of places to let them out of your system.

But some of us liked the movie. Some of us had issues, but frankly, I'm over it by now. I go onto the boards to talk about the movie...or to find out details about the DVD or the spinoffs.

But every bloody thread turns into the same group of people complaining about the same things over and over and over again. Every thread.

But did that pay-off happen? For some it did, for others it didn't. I'm part of the pack who didn't feel satisfied by the overall product of this film. Could it have been done with more time, focus, and less politics? No doubt in my mind. Fox rushed this movie out to beat Superman Returns, and as far as I'm concerned, the movie suffered because it was based on money, greed, politics, and petty revenge.

Yes, we know. I have yet to find a thread where you haven't let us know this what you feel. See what I mean?

Some Fox loyalists, Wolverine loyalists, and Rothman loyalists laugh and accuse us of being conspiracy theorists.

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to accuse and be accused in the same sentence.

Loyalists? Please. So now everyone who had the audacity to like the film is some sort of Fox suck-up?

Yes, I'm a Wolverine fan. But he never calls, and he never writes, he's never thanked me even once for liking his movies. Do you think I'm his secret payroll to like everything about him?

No, maybe it's because I happen to enjoy the character. I didn't realize such strings were attached.

Give us a break, you mean to tell me this film would've been released had Singer not got on SR? I bet if SR wasn't supposed to come out for another two years Fox would be sitting on their asses still.

Yes, I think Fox could have done a much better job with all of this. But I was in agreement with Moriarty's AICN review, I thought they dodged a bullet. It was an entertaining film regardless.

So for those who enjoyed the film, that's awesome. I'm glad you found it more enjoyable than myself and others.

Are you? Last I heard I was a Fox/Tom Rothman/Wolverine loyalist trying to insult your intelligence and keep you from posting anything negative.

Some are not willing to just accept anything. So either accept that some didn't like this movie, or leave to the Xverse where all negative comments are screened and deleted.

I accepted it! I accepted it months ago. WE GET IT.

Is this really still keeping you up at night, two months later? Wow, I spent 16 years waiting for a Star Wars prequel and it wasn't what I wanted...but I've got better things to do.

And there are no moderators here? I mean, just to calm down a bit.

Maybe they're just watching everyone fight it out to see who's left when it's over...

Or they're on the Batman boards calming those fans down.

Or the Spiderman boards calming those fans down.

Or the Superman boards, telling everyone giving 'I told you so's' after it's box office results turned out the way they did to give it a rest already.

This is a silly place, isn't it? :p

X-Men: The Last Stand forum....August 2006

An example of what is seen here day in and day out.

Post #1: Hey guys, I'm new here and I have a question. I liked the movie, but one part has me confused. In [insert scene in question here], when [insert character A] is talking to [insert character B], why did he say what he said?

Below is an sampling of likely responses.

...Go see the movie again, noob.

...Because FOX are idiots.

...It should have been Cyclops in that scene, because HE'S THE FREAKIN' LEADER!!!!!

...The writers suck, that's why.

...Because Halle Berry's ego and Oscar win got her a bigger part.

...Wolverine stole everything and got everything he wanted and Jackman would be nothing without this role

...Singer sucks

...Rothman sucks

...Ratner sucks

...You suck for liking this piece of [expletive deleted]

...That scene should have been between [character C] and [character D] because that's what happened in the comic.

...When you have a higher post count come back and ask that question, noob.

...That scene is a prime example of what is seriously wrong with this movie.

...Rothman still sucks

This is the current state of this very forum. Am I stretching? Look around here and you'll see I'm absolutely right.
HAHAHA! You are exactly dead on:up: :)

I wouldn't worry about it folks. It's typical of internet 'boredom' (= downtime, when no news is available) to make things get 'nasty.'

Just look at the Superman forums! The 'Official Complaints' thread in SR forum has over 3,000 posts, the 'We Like' thread has only about 700. And there are threads asking for Singer to be fired etc...!!!!!

Not to mention his "hack writers", Dougherty and Harris.

Or find the pure joy in the "10 Things I Hate About Batman"...in the Batman forums! Not to mention there's a "I'm losing faith in Nolan" thread.

And we think we have problems.

That just shows people would rather complain & say the same things over & over again then rather move on. It is the same people posting in that thread day after day. Kind of like this thread.

^It is the same thing everywhere...the same complaints every single day...

wah, wah wah stop whining. If you don't like what I have to say or write, then just move on to something else. Apparently what I wrote struck a nerve enough for you to respond in a typical manner.

Is what keeping me up at night? a movie? No. But when I look at X1 and X2, along with watching the Dark Phoenix Saga, then reading it, and constantly remembering what X3 could've been I get a little bitter. Don't like it? Too bad.

I'll continue voicing my displeasure until the movies are restarted or a sequel is made in order to make-up for X3.

Truth is, that's the only way that things are gonna change. Enough people were displeased with this movie that it should send a message to management, box office profits notwithstanding. And the only way for that message to be heard and for changes to take place is for people to not just give up and move on. Because that's exactly what they want us to do. Hand over ticket money, and shut up. Fans have to keep applying that pressure. If it worked for Batman Begins, it if worked for the Hulk, if it worked for Donner getting a 2nd chance to release his own cut of Superman II, then maybe just maybe it can work for the X-men franchise too.

I think my jaw just hit the floor. You seriously think a load of *****ing about how bad X3 is will convince the filmmakers that they should invest a ton of money in another sequel that you will ***** about.

Well, how do you think Ratner found the South Park X-Men movie?

They're watching us.

Isnt this the point i was making before? That people ***** constantly on EVERY forum? Did i not say that? Its only now that you people realize that?

And the ten things i hate about batman thread is a JOKE thread....you have to say ten things you hate about batman from jokers perspective. Other than the losing faith in nolan thread, we're all pretty pumped to have a sequel that will probably blow away most comics out there....especially the ones that came out this year

Um...maybe if the movie is actually good....people wont ***** about it.

And a load of *****ing convinced WB to make a good batman movie. and now we have BB.

But not everyone likes BB. I know most of the fans do, as do I, but there will always be some who with **** about it.

That's understandable. no movie can be perfect. The point is that enough people did not like Batman and Robin and were fed up with how things were going that they raised enough hell and got the studios to change their tactics and in return got Batman Begins.

Here's hoping you actually stop accepting the bare minimum before then.

I have a life, my life doesn't involve X-Men 24/7. But I will continue voicing my own opinion, voicing my displeasure, and refusing to give Fox anymore money/ratings until a change is made in the front offices and an X-Men is released up to the standards I have.

If someone asks me about X3, I'll tell them that it's decent, but could've been better as a movie. I will not sit down and shut up because some fans get hurt about my negativity towards the movie.

I'd say poor box office and abysmal reviews killed of the Batman franchise. The same happened with Superman. Fanboy *****ing had nothing to do with reviving either.

That's where you're wrong. Even with the abysmal box office WB had intentions on taking Batman into a cornier/stupider direction.

It wasn't until fanboys came up and spoke their mind about bring Batman back to his dark roots.
