Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist thread

The score sounds EPIC. Listening to the samples, I got definite goosebumps. This is coming along very nicely. The way they built my excitement for this project is unfathomable especially in light of how wary I was when it was first announced.

Awesomeness !

At this point, I'm just going to assume Blanka ate it.

Isn't he called Jimmy? I'm not sure since I'm just going off the Alpha games.

Its Jimmy. Charlie was a stupid retcon for the movie and it wasn't until Alpha 3 where they had to prove him and Blanka were two different people.

MACHINIMA AND CAPCOM ANNOUNCE ALL EPISODES OF
STREET FIGHTER: ASSASSIN’S FIST
WILL DEBUT ON THE MACHINIMA MAIN CHANNEL

Created By and Starring Joey Ansah and Christian Howard, Series Also Stars Togo Igawa, Akira Koieyama, Mike Moh, Gaku Space, Shogen, Hyunri, and features Hal Yamanouchi and Mark Killeen

Los Angeles, CA, March 14, 2014 – Machinima, Assassin’s Fist Limited, and Capcom U.S.A., Inc. announce today, in partnership with Producer Jacqueline Quella, and Director Joey Ansah, that STREET FIGHTER: ASSASSIN’S FIST will debut in its entirety on Machinima, the number-one global video entertainment network for young males. The exact air date will be announced soon. The live-action series, which is distributed by Content Media, is the brainchild of Ansah (The Bourne Ultimatum, Snow White and the Huntsman), a member of the creative team behind the hugely successful fan film Street Fighter: Legacy—which has received almost 5,000,000 views to date. Ansah, who also stars in the series (Akuma), wrote the script with Christian Howard, who reprises his role as Ken Masters from the original fan film. The series also stars Mike Moh as Ryu, Togo Igawa (47 Ronin, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Last Samurai) as Gōtetsu, Akira Koieyama as Gōken, Gaku Space as Gōki, Mark Killeen (300: Rise of an Empire, The Dark Knight Rises) as Mr. Masters, and Hal Yamanouchi as Senzo. Through the coming of age story of Ken & Ryu, we are shown the back story of some of the game’s most iconic characters, and over the course of the series we will see how the past, present, and future of all of those characters are intertwined, as the battle to become Ansatsuken Master threatens to tear apart another generation of brothers.

“This series was meant for Machinima,” said Allen DeBevoise, Chairman, Co-Founder and CEO of Machinima. “We have successfully launched popular game-inspired web series in the past, and Street Fighter is about as iconic as they come. We couldn’t be more excited about working with the incredible production team behind the series and the folks over at Capcom to launch not only a compelling and action-packed series in its own right, but also one that stays true to the Street Fighter lore.” DeBevoise continued, “After the success of Mortal Kombat: Legacy 2, we will once again provide all of the episodes on the day of launch to our fans to ensure they get exactly what they want—the entire series from start to finish!”

Looks great! But still too less to judge since it's just a teaser. Can't wait for the release date.

I think Digital VOD and web shows is the best format for things like this.

Kung Fu Kingdom's First Impressions of Street Fighter:Assassin's Fist

We were very excited to attend the full screening of Street Fighter Assassin’s Fist in London last night.

Director, Joey Ansah (who also plays the incredibly imposing character Akuma) gave a short dedicatory speech to the team in attendance who made it all possible and then the film promptly began. It was also fitting that Christian Howard (playing Ken) sat next to me through the whole picture – and he was generous in answering our questions, there and then, about particular scenes.

Kicking off, mention must be made of the impressive, beautiful vivid imagery, cinematography and sonic brilliance which really puts you in the heart of this epic adaptation.

While Street Fighter fans may be wondering which areas are given emphasis, rest assured you’ll be treated to an in depth storyline, as Master Goken (played by Akira Koieyama) trains iconic warriors Ryu and Ken in the combative style of Ansatsuken (Assassin’s Fist).

Character development, training techniques, channeling chi (or ki) energy and the philosophy behind them are not sacrificed for the sake of action alone and are amply covered. There is a harmony between the multiple layers here as you are drawn into the compelling story with enough Hadokens and Shoryukens to satisfy even the most die-hard fans along the way!

Howard (Ken), Mike Moh (Ryu), Akira (Master Goken), Joey Ansah (Akuma) and ninja legend Togo Igawa (Gotetsu) and the rest of the cast all put in stellar performances that bring the story to life in a way that reaches out and touches you, quenching the thirst that the two previous movie outings (Street Fighter and The Legend of Chun Li) simply couldn’t manage to.

There are breathtaking scenes, authentic-looking sets and costumes, and a spellbinding musical score hitting all the favourite familiar sounds and melodies from Capcom’s beloved 1987 arcade game to round out the offering.

Visually, sonically, in terms of production design and acting-wise, this rivals anything of a similar genre you’re likely to see in the cinema and on a very humble budget too; it makes you wonder how much work went into this rare labour of love. This is storytelling at its finest.

To sum up, this is a fantastic series seriously well worth seeing and has been well worth the wait, your patience shall be rewarded!! So you wanted Street Fighter? Now you’ve got Street Fighter!
