Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist thread

I truly hope that the Trailer is what's coming out on the first week of March. Their distributors need to get it in gear already.

Will it be a full-blown trailer or just a teaser - what do you think?

I'm really enjoying this project although I wish they had followed the UDON storyline as I prefer that being the "official canon" except for the part where Ryu used Dark Hadou to defeat Sagat.

Had UDON done their own take on Pre-SF1 to SF Alpha timeline yet? If so, you might see hints of it in this series.

what was wrong with that detail?

Well in the original storyline Ryu kicked Sagat's ass without the Satsui No Hado, thereby announcing his arrival as the fighting champion of the World.

The Satsui No Hado whilst adding quite an intriguing mythos to the series, undermined Ryu's victory over Sagat somewhat and also as a result affected Ryu's belief in himself.

Every victory he achieved since, had a shadow of that Evil intent lurking behind nearby.

Technically speaking tho, in canon, Ryu only succumbed to the Satsui No Hado once and that was the Sagat fight.

SFAF Director Joey Ansah is going to be doing a video Q&A for fans of this page. Get your questions in the comments section below and he will pick the 12 best/most interesting questions to answer early next week!

will the series be just about ken and ryu or will the other street fighters be in arcs?

This season will mostly focus on Ken, Ryu, Akuma, Gouken Mr. Masters, and Goutetsu.

Either later seasons or a future movie will focus more on the events of the World Warrior's tournament.

We all know about Akuma but will Evil Ryu make an appearance ?

Hadoken.net non-spoiler review.

Worth a read if you're looking for some info but it's hard to take the review seriously when the reviewer was sitting in Joey Ansah's house and gave it a 10/10.

But to be honest, I'm not surprised if the author's review becomes general consensus. The pictures and everything almost convinced he can blow this out of the water.

I'll just keep myself mellowed until it comes out though.

thank you

Because it was a stupid ret-con. Ryu kicked Sagat's ass straight up originally. No Dark Hadou crap necessary.

That's pretty much the general feeling I have as well. The production images we've seen have been nothing short of spectacular.

All this promo material looks cool and all, but we haven't seen any footage yet.

I'm also curious how they are going to launch this show.

I see where you're coming from with that, and I agree somewhat. Him beating Sagat's ass legit makes Ryu a formidable fighter on the world stage, however him using that power to beat Sagat and realizing it's a shortcut, gives him reason to better himself to get to that level through hard work and training. Also, he sees first hand how out of control he is when he used it, and it was not for him. Personaly, I like both ways. I just like the Dark Hadou story more.

I like Dark Hadou story more because Ryu learns from it to become a better fighter, and you see his vulnerability when he was a younger fighter back then.

so is this show going to premiere online like MK: Legacy or will it go straight to DVD?

With the Dark Hadou, Sagat almost got massacred. There is this detail I personally loved in which the Metsu Shoryuken that gave Sagat his scar, actually missed.

If Ryu knew what he was doing, Sagat would've been friggin' dead right there. So the scar becomes more than just a reminder that the Muay Thai King lost a fight, it becomes a reminder for Ryu that he almost killed a man by accident.

Excellent ! I always wonder if we'll ever see the fruits of Ryu's training under Oro but the World Warrior tournament would be great to see as well

OK, that was hype! :awesome:

Sweetre, did you want a transcript because his accent was hard to understand?
