Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist thread

I finished watching it some days ago and I LOVED it! I want MOAR!

Seriously, I've always liked Street Fighter but was never really into its story. I'm more of a Mortal Kombat guy, but always wanted to know more about the beginning of SF and never knew where to look for. These guys did an amazing job. I really hope they get to do more. You can see their heart was into it.

And, by the way, this was much better than MK's season 2.

I like how they gave Ken all the fights but was still playing catch-up to Ryu when learning techniques. That way both characters look strong.

I asked Mike Moh about who he thinks Matt Mullins could play. He says Mullins would be a good Charlie Nash.

Hadn't had much time to watch this so did it yesterday and it was great. can't wait for season 2 which I hope and think there will be.

I freaked when the old man played Ryu's theme tune.

That was one of my favorite moments.

Just finished all of it and really enjoyed it. I'm excited to see what they have in store for the next season.

I loved the abuse he'd throw Ken's way.:funny:

I wan Guile,Chun-Li,M-Bison, Zangief etc the usual Street Fighter crew to make an appearance in season 2.

yea i liked how it was very accurate to the game and its mythology, ken having the flashier, offense-based fighting style. ryu with the less showy, power hits.

Yeah that too.

It seems to be listed for August 13th for Germany. But not sure if that's just a placeholder.

Video game publisher Capcom is moving forward with a sequel to its live action “Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist” digital series, based on its popular franchise.

Joey Ansah is returning to write and direct “Street Fighter: World Warrior” to bow in late 2015 or early 2016.

Ansah will reunite with “Assassin’s Fist” castmembers Mike Moh, who played Ryu, and Gaku Space (Goki).

Capcom announced the series at its Comic-Con panel in San Diego on Friday.

The 12 episodes of “Assassin’s Fist” debuted on Machinima earlier this year and generated 16 million views.

“We demonstrated with ‘Assassin’s Fist’ that an authentic, live-action version of videogames, with a compelling and dramatic storyline, can be made,” said series producer Jacqueline Quella. “We’ll be taking the same approach with the new series.”

The new series will introduce more of the game’s iconic characters.

“The scale of ‘World Warrior’ is much larger, picking up where ‘Assassin’s Fist’ left off as we follow Ryu and Ken on their ‘Musha Shugyo’ (warrior’s pilgrimage),” Ansah said. “The Shadaloo criminal cartel will be introduced, led by the extremely dangerous M.Bison, which will naturally lead into the World Warrior tournament,” in which fan favorites Guile, Chun-li, Sagat will play a significant role.

“There are some big and primal themes which we’ll be exploring in the sequel,” said producer Mark Wooding. “It will be thrilling and naturally, as befits the game, the fights will be epic, but it will be driven by the characters, their stories, faults and problems. It will be a dark tale.”

“Assassin’s Fist” was first announced at Comic-Con in 2012.

“We are delighted to be working again with the team that did such an excellent job with ‘Street Fighter: Assassins Fist,” said Matt Dahlgren, associate director of brand marketing at Capcom. “The response to it has been amazing, and working with filmmakers who are so passionate about the game is an extremely rewarding process.”

Capcom also announced “Assassin’s Fist” will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the fall, as well as video-on-demand and download-to-own platforms. Content Media Corp is handling the distribution. The discs will include an unreleased epilogue episode.

I can't wait for the sequel!

Watched all the episodes of assasin's fist online for like 2 to 3 days. And I thought it was decent and definitely better than the previously released live-action films.

So... I guess they are bypassing the first tournament and just jumping right into the second? I can see them just having Ryu and Sagat's first fight as a seprate fight from the tournament and Ryu's participation in the tournament following that.

When is the Bluray release date?

I'm asking this because I already see a Bluray rip of it available.

EDIT:
I checked it out. Not sure about other places, but the end bit has extra stuff to do with Gouken. Pretty cool.

Great news...This was the best web series to date from youtube

So there's actual closure and it doesn't just cut off on the DVD/blu-ray?

Yes. It's more like a cliffhanger. There's more stuff with Gouken but it ends in a very teasing way - very painful since we obviously have to wait for Season 2.

Basically (spoilers obviously), [BLACKOUT]Gouken writes stuff in his journal and relieves Senzo of his duties and gives him one final task: to ensure that his journal safely makes it to Ryu and Ken. Then Gouken and Akuma meet, do their fighting stances and you see their ki/aura/whatever and then it ends.[/BLACKOUT]

Just pre ordered this on Blu ray.

Brilliant show. 10/10

Imho 'THE' best game to movie adaptation ever.
