Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist thread

Yeah, its going to be tough adapting other SF characters faithfully. Larger then life characters like Blanka could be the hardest to do well (so perhaps they would avoid it altogether, which wouldn't be the end of the world imo) but even something simpler like Guile' haircut could be tricky to get looking good. The character's in AF are the least 'video gamey' of the SF roster, but then again Akuma was great, and hopefully they'll have a bigger budget (which they'll no doubt need for a Road Warrior adaptation).

Certain things should simply not be adapted. Guile's haircut is one of them. Just get a guy that has similar facial features, and you're good to go.

It's too bad Lundgren is too old. He'd be perfect. He even has the haircut that doesn't look ridiculous.

Now he'd probably be a great M. Bison.

What about Adkins as Charlie? Also Matt Mullins could play Charlie or Cody.

Anyway, Episode 0 has broken over the 1 million views mark. Other episodes are in the high six figures. Are these good numbers in the first few days or so? Just wondering what kind of numbers Honda and Machinima are looking for, for a web series.

Yeah I've been watching the view count and wondering what is considered a success for something like this. A million is fantastic in 3 days though. I havn't totalled up all the views for all 12 episodes but those alone are making money for Machinima right? There'll be a Blu Ray release at some stage too. I hope we hear something from Capcom about what they thought of it, and hope to hear they're happy to let a follow up happen.

It still makes me laugh since I realised it so late about one of this series' sponsors.

Sponsored by Honda. The sumo character in SF2 is E.Honda.

I loved this web series. Scott Adkins looks like he could play Guile, Charlie or Rolento. I'm guessing it's gonna be a character from SF2 or the Alpha games?

That Vaughan Lee totally looks like Adon though.

I hope the next season they have two separate storylines for Ken and Ryu's journey only to have them meet up in the season finale and end it like Rocky 3.

I would love Ansah to get some sort of gig on the Marvel Netflix shows.

So the series has been on youtube for a week now, anyone know how the view numbers are compared to say, Mortal Kombat Legacy after its first week?

Episode 0 has 1.6 million views, episode 1 just went past 1 million. Also, I'm hoping to hear about a home release soon, as well as some sort of announcement to do with a second series.

Not sure on the views of Mortal Kombat after about a week, but just for comparison, it's been about 8 months since the premiere of season 2 of Legacy. Episode 1 of Legacy season 2 has about 5.5 million views. So for Street Fighter AF to already be about a fifth of the way there after about a week is pretty good.

Great interview man, seems like you guys had a good repertoire, he gives pretty long in depth answers.

Think this series outlived everyone's expectations, really hope Joey and co get the greenlight for a sequal.

just watched the whole series this past week, and it was better than i expected. i grew up playing the games so it was really cool seeing all the little details and references.

also Vile, great interview with Ansah, really enjoyed reading it. his responses about ken's wig and the series being a period piece were funny as well.

Who would you guys cast for her?:

Chun-Li is definitely one of my favorite characters and I can't wait to see Joey Ansah's depiction of her war with Shadaloo.

I love Machinima for all these fan films, I cant wait for season 2. And I hope they do a season 3 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy

She's played two kick-butt characters in OUAT and Believe, so it definitely won't be a stretch for her to play Chun Li.

Wait, is Kristin Kreuk available?

JUST KIDDING, I SWEAR! :o

I hope we see Guile and Chun-Li with ICPO work together to take down Shadaloo. With their own motivations. Guile for vengeance for his friend and Chun-Li for her father.

Yes. Thankfully we didn't really get a time limit. Frequently in interview settings you are fighting for time or questions. And since Ansah likes to sort of go on for a while, I'm glad we got so much time.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I actually really appreciated his insight on filming stunts and fights for big movies and how filmmakers and editors don't understand how they could save so much time and money by avoiding all the coverage.

I'll leave the casting up to Joey and co., they have the right idea. Can't imagine Jamie Chung would be in this.

Anyone know if the panel they did in London is online?
