That's like the third time you've used that gif as a response to something in the past two days. What are you going for here?

Yes. That is the intent. Take it the way you want to take it....:o

I think the story should be a mixture of Ostrander's run and New 52 with a little bit of....IDK, Keith Giffen's work? Tons of possibilities, especially with Ostrander's run that touches on political issues still relevant today.

Yeah, the Ostrander stuff, Jihad/Onslaught, that stuff would be able to easily be worked into a modern thriller/action film for sure. That said, I think that KOBRA would be the way to go in a Squad film or series of films. I think that you can do much of what you would want to do with extremist terrorist organizations and ideologies, how they can seduce people, why they can resonate, with the Cult of Kobra. Plus you establish this great story generator idea inside the DCCU. Added bonus is to see the big man himself, the Naga-Naga, Kobra on the big screen. Always an underdeveloped villain, he's got an interesting back story and is one of a handful of men that can go toe to toe with the Batman. It would be a nice addition to have Kobra and his organization in the DCCU. Now, how you fit something like that into a film that is already going to feature the Joke and Lex Luthor? I don't know. At this time I have a sneaking feeling that Joker and Harley are going to act as antagonists against the group proper, and that Joker will leave Quinn behind and that's how you have her set up for membership in the Squad.

Did we even mention the Bronze Tiger as one of the roles Will Smith may be up for?

I like the idea that SS may be setting up the Legion of Doom for the Justice League. It shows inventiveness on Dcs part.

Is the suicide squad still going to be on the arrow show? I think they cancelled that idea because of this movie, right?

Just like they cancelled The Flash because of the movie, right? I doubt Arrow's done with the Suicide Squad. It'll be quite some time before the movie even comes out as well.

Plans change all the time too on networks. They may have had the idea for s Task Force X spin off but decided against it for various reasons, probably the biggest reason being they might have trepidation about doing a show on CW that is not conceptually as easy to bend to the demands or expectations of their audience or the overall network identity they currently want to promote. Both FLASH and ARROW have soap opera dynamics that I am not sure could be so readily reproduced in a Suicide Squad show. With Flash easily able to introduce more super powered heroes (who could be spun off into their own shows with ready made romantic interests to fill the soap quotient) and Arrow likely also being used the same way (Think Ray Palmer's ATOM as played by Routh isn't being looked at as spin off character?) some better fits for a CW show may have occurred to the creative teams to spotlight. As has been already said, the films are a few years away so expect that if the CW-verse has a use for certain characters they will use them regardless of the film's.

Supposedly, Suicide Squad might film in Detroit? That would be cool if true as it would keep a nice continuity if it's going to be used for either Gotham or Metropolis in the film.

I'll admit to not knowing much about the character outside of Arrow, but I think Smith can do better.

Like Rick Flagg, he's kind of the voice of reason (when needed) though to a somewhat awkward degree. Unless he would be as a major villain in a future Batman movie (which is HIGHLY doubtful), yeah Smith should aim bigger.

I've said it before, but I'd love to see him as Manta or Deadshot. Hell, I'd probably even accept him as Deathstroke.

Anybody but Captain Boomerang. I know the character first started off as a 'Murican, but it would still be hella weird. :hehe:

Cap. Boomerang seems like the kind of character that would be interesting just long enough for him to get violently killed early on thus increasing doubts about the remaining casts survivability.

I don't even know why Smith would be interested in him. Sure, he's supposed to be a cocky smart ass, but his gimmick is throwing boomerangs. Why go for that when you could be an expert marksman or a super soldier?

Exactly. Smith is being looked as Flagg, Deathstroke or Black Manta. Has to be. Maaaaaybe Bronze Tiger

Like it! I would like to see the Squad go to Paris also and go after some underground scumbags in the slums around Paris.

Seriously. In the realm of comic book superhero skills/abilities/powers, I would have to thinking that throwing boomerangs is pretty low on the totem pole.

Because it's funny?

If this movie maintains even a fraction of the grounded quality of Man of Steel, I can't see Captain Boomerang being part of the team at all. It's a dude who throws a boomerang.

Trying to imagine him in the movie...like maybe Waller gathers seven prisoners, tells them she only has room on the team for six, and has them explain why they'd be useful. Then one of them starts talking about being good with a boomerang, and she puts a bullet in his head, just so the others know not to f*** with her.

Seriously, a boomerang.
