I was lucky enough to score one last night when they went on sale at Best Buy

Took me like 20 min to get through because many times I would receive alerts saying the item was out of stock and it would be removed from my cart

Best of luck to the rest of you

The SNES Classic Edition is set to release just a month from now, and it already has third-parties designing accessories for the system. My Arcade has announced that they will be making a Super Gamepad for the console, which you can see in the above image.

The Super Gamepad will feature wireless functionality, TURBO capabilities, and the addition of a Home button, which will give players access to the game selection menu. On top of all that, the controller will also work with the NES Classic and the Wii/Wii U’s Virtual Console of supported games.

The SNES Classic Edition will release on September 29th, 2017.

Nintendo News: Nintendo Increases Inventory of Super NES Classic Edition; NES Classic Edition Returns to Stores in 2018

September 12, 2017 05:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Due to incredible demand for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo plans to ship the retro-inspired product into 2018. Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year.

In addition, more units of Super NES Classic Edition will ship on its Sept. 29 launch day in the U.S. than were shipped of NES Classic Edition all last year, with subsequent shipments arriving in stores regularly. Fans have shown their unbridled enthusiasm for these Classic Edition systems, so Nintendo is working to put many more of them on store shelves.

The Super NES Classic Edition system features 21 legendary Super NES games such as Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. Launching on Sept. 29 at a suggested retail price of only $79.99, Super NES Classic Edition plugs directly into the TV using the provided HDMI cable, and comes with two wired controllers. For more information about Super NES Classic Edition, visit http://www.nintendo.com/super-nes-classic.

Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.

NES Classic Edition features 30 classic NES games such as the original Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong. For more information about NES Classic Edition, visit http://www.nintendo.com/nes-classic/.

Good on Nintendo for stepping up, though I feel they took too long to do this. I wonder what made them change their mind.

What would piss me off is if they decided to add an additional game or two to the NES classic when bringing it back. I was lucky enough to get it the first time around and wouldnt want to have to try again.

They need to make one retro device with an Ethernet port, give you a selection of free games, and have a store that's cross device so users can download games legally and not lose the ability to play them on whatever platform Nintendo has out. Say, make it look like a Gamecube and not have the top open. Let it be a box where you can buy controllers, and have a console store. Have single games and game packs. I think the hardware could be done cheap enough to get people interested, and once they have it many would buy extra games. I know I'm not alone. It's money Nintendo you just got to put your product on shelves.

It wouldn't be worth it for Nintendo. By the time you added the expanded hardware, and software, and internet connection, and store, you'd have a product that's basically a 3DS. At which point, Nintendo is better off just selling 3DSes.

Why would Nintendo of all people pass up the opportunity to make more money? It's no different than what Apple does.

3DS isn't marketed toward that market niche.

3DS isn't marketed toward that market niche.

If they made the more complex, more expensive version of the Classic that you all keep suggesting? Then at that point, yes, they *would* be marketed towards the same niche. Because adding the more complex hardware and software to make a Classic expandable, would push it into the same price range as the lower end 2/3DS, with roughly the same complexity of usage. It would, in fact, *be* "passing up the opportunity to make more money". . . because it'd be selling consoles, for the same price to the same market, that don't have the ability to sell new games, just VC ones.

I love the 3DS by the way. I own three, including this one.

This is the one I really want though which gets released in pretty much every country EXCEPT the US:

If this were 150 bucks with expandable games, I would skip buying one.

Only 80 bucks retail is a huge selling point.

Second segmentin the video of the Rundown below with confrimation from, EGM and hope you find the systems tody/ this weekend.

I forgot how much the soundtrack to Donkey Kong Country slaps. I'm so happy I managed to get a Super Nintendo Classic last night. It already seems like it's going to be a lot easier to find than the NES Classic.

Now if you excuse me, I'll be playing Super Castlevania IV until my eyes bleed.
