If you worked for MARVEL COMICS and were told that you could turn a Super Villain into a Superhero,

1. Who would you choose?
2. What would be the circumstances that would turn this Super Villain into a Superhero?
3. Would the other Superheroes accept the reformed Super Villain?
4. Would the general public accept the reformed Super Villain?
5. Would he or she get a secret identity?

:liz: :sym: :doom: :otto:

Limited pool here...seeing as how most of marvel's villians have already been heroes or quasi heroes...and probably is about to get worse.

I'll say Wizard..becuase I'm not sure if he ever has.

it worked for sandman..and juggernaut for a while..

Theres too many bad guys turned good guys. Not enough proper villains anymore.

true but we do have some nasty as bad guys tho...
i think norman osborn is an excellent villain..and he should step up to doom and magneto levels...it's possible too with where he is now.

It's more fun to turn a villain into a vigilante/anti-hero, or of course a hero into a villain. Not many villains I want to reform. God knows I miss Eddie Brock's days as a "Spider-Man must DIE" obsessed villain!

Anyway...um...I got nothin'.

I can't think of any, but I can name two that Marvel did that I love, and those are Emma Frost and Juggs.

If only Juggernaut never lost his full powers. Is he still only semi-powerful?

He got Cyttorak's powers back toward the end of the New Excalibur run...so yea, he is back to his original power base...but he also has to fight back the evil inclinations that Cyttorak puts in his head.

He'll be popping up in X-Men Legacy in a couple of months.

actually i would like the opposite. i would like a Hero to go "plum loco, out of his mind" Villain style( see green lantern as parallax reference), but none of this redemption crap.Someone turns into a villain and stay as one. i think it's much more shocking to have a hero cross that line than visa versa. Then you have some new kid take up his mantle. Then said villain already has a bone to pick with the new kid and "viola" instant arch enemy.Someone who has been a mainstream hero for quite awhile would be cool. Some fanboys would be totally cheesed off, but it would break up the status quo some. Quicksilver and Wanda do it all the time, but then jump back on the hero side. I would like someone who turns and never look back with dr.doom like evil. That would be cool.

I would like to see Magneto fully convert into a good guy. He's been in such a gray area for too long, and he's one of the most sympathetic villains in the MU. Who wouldnt wanna destroy mankind after all he's been through? lol. Seriously i think it would be cool if he continued prof. X's legacy and led the X-Men, only problem is cyclops and wolverine would never ever let that happen.

On a side note..what Tier 1 upper Marvel villian has NEVER been portrayed as a "good guy"....

I can hardly think of any.

Read Cable. They lightswitched Bishop into a crazy baby killer villian. I hate it, since he has never shown any signs of having evil inclinations...but what are ya going to do?

The Red Skull.

Green Goblin (Norman)

Sorry, technically the Thunderbolts are superheroes, even if I don't agree with the direction of the book, plus they are on Uncle Sam's pay. Norman leads them, so yea, he is technically a hero now.

umm Thanks but i think i will have to pass brainy. i never liked cable and killing babies dont really make you a world level threat. ewww! i was thinking more along the lines of maybe Hawkeye( please Hawkeye fans don't stone me ,this is all hypothetical) Maybe dude loses his mind cause he was tricked into thinking mockingbird was alive. Flips out, gains access to Thano's cosmic cube( which the Avengers just had laying around in their trophy room, the guys always do).the cube intensifies his anger and anguish and Viola a world level threat is born. with someone new to take up Hawkeye's place and not that sorry ass babe in the new Avengers either. My boy could make a totally bad ass villain.

But Bishop has this new robotic arm that can do a bunch of stuff and can allow him to travel through time all Kang like.

If that doesn't say multi-verse level threat...I don't know what does.

Fortunately he is on a mission right now to kill Cable and the baby mutant.

yeah but brainy bishop is like what.. maybe a c- lister. i am talking about an A or b lister. Somebody who's been a hero for a long time in the marvel u. Plus do we really need another time traveling villain bent on killing people when they were young.hasn't that been done to death.Hawkeye man! and especially how he lost his ^&$#*&$ mind in secret invasion recently.

Xavier has gone made/evil a few times....does that count?

Norman is not a hero though, he is doing this because the governemnt is forcing him to and is trying to use the T-Bolts to his own twisted ends the whole time. Being forced to be a "hero" doesn't count.

Besides you ignored the Red Skull, has he ever done anything even remotely nice?

They aren't forcing him anymore, he's fully employed and in charge of the T-Bolts.

yeah i would say it counts, but he also flips back to the good side.i mean someone who stays a villain and goes after everybody like doom. Hawkeye baby with a cosmic cube and some hate he could be hell bent on people.

I didn't "are" ignore Red Skull, I didn't mention him because as far as I remember, he has never been good. Also Norman isn't being forced any longer.

Exactly.

What is it with your hard-on for an evil Hawkeye? If you are using him as an example, heck anyone with any Avengers access could become super evil. If I were to choose just one character with Avengers access that would be one of the worst threats to the world, then it would be Beast. That dude, if he became evil, would basically turn the world into his own little test lab...and it would end up looking very much like the Age of Apocolypse.

I wouldn't be surprised if they turned Hank Pym evil. Assuming he's not dead already.
