Supergirl Supergirl Season 1 Episode 4- "How Does She Do It?" MAJOR SPOILERS

Hmmm...that's interesting. Well ok then.

I can see the logic and I was certain the NCIS ep would be switched as it's directly about ISIS, some bad typos for an article from Variety though. The episode they are airing will feature the character Livewire? It doesn't mention her in the description but I know she's going to be on the show.

I have the episode thread up now, it talks a little more about the episode with pics since we probably will not be getting any trailers for it.

The only thing that surprises me about this decision is that it wasn't made sooner.

What will probably end up happening is that How Does She Do It? will air much later, with every subsequent episode to it being aired a week earlier than planned. It does mean that we lose out on character development, but is the smarter course of action in the short term.

Hmmm...I don't know that we will loose too much on character development, except maybe with Maxwell Lord and Cat, other than that, I'm not sure that there will be much lost.

I don't think they can air it any later because of the Lucy Lane story line.

Kelly: In the past, postponement of an episode containing sensitive content has generally resulted in said episode not being aired until much, much later (see BtVS' Graduation Day and BONES' Player Under Pressure), and I would be surprised if something changed here. The feelings that motivated CBS to make the decision to postpone the episode aren't going to go away in just one week, so it makes far more sense for the network to wait until things have calmed down considerably before airing the episode... hence why I don't think we'll see it aired until much later on in the season.

I hate when real life events causes networks to switch episodes or not even air episodes. And I understand their reasoning. Hopefully story wise switching episodes around won't affect things.

I understood what you meant...hopefully, however, that won't happen and the character and story development can continue on track. I can see them holding off for awhile on the NCIS: LA episode, but I just don't think they will do the same with Supergirl.

Postponing the episode by only one week kind of defeats the purpose of postponing it AT ALL. I'd be shocked, honestly, if it's only delayed by a week, but I guess we'll see.

I disagree....but ok...:yay:

I'm going by past precedent, so this isn't just an uninformed opinion or idle speculation. There's also a chance that CBS never actually airs the episode and that the inevitable DVD release becomes the first time audiences get to see it.

DW... lol, I get it. I'm not saying your opinion is uninformed, or wrong IN ANY WAY. My disagreement is simply "a hope" that it does not go as you say. If it does, ok....that is their call to make, and it very well may go exactly as you say....to the point even of not showing it at all. HOWEVER, out of all of the episodes of different shows out there right now, ie: NCIS: LA, Quantico, etc....this one is the least similar to what has happened, so my HOPE, is that it will be shown quickly.

That's all..... :gngl:

This from the guy who says we can't go by what's happened in the past :whatever:

I wouldn't be surprised if ABC makes a last-minute decision to not air Quantico tonight and instead air Blood and Oil, since they're taking up two hours for Once Upon a Time.

How about we move on to the NEW EPISODE showing tomorrow night. Which I am actually really looking forward to, Livewire was one of the villains I was most excited about seeing.

Well, hell.....if they don't air tonight, what about next week, and the week after, and the week after. That ENTIRE SHOW IS BASED ON A TERRORIST BOMBING. THE WORST terrorist attack in the US since 9/11.

I totally understand showing respect, I really do. But, life does go on, and for most humans, they stand up, brush off, and move on (hopefully with more understanding) quite quickly.

There's a very big difference between relying on past precedent for this kind of scenario and relying on past precedent when it comes to something like character-usage restrictions, especially when more recent precedent overrules previous behavior in the latter case.

Even though I proved they are still applying restrictions in many cases :cwink:

Anyway moving on I wonder if episode 4s delay will remain everywhere or just in the US seen as though for us in the UK it airs on Thursdays.

It would be very weird if they didn't switch episodes in Canada and the UK as well....

I'm going to close this thread for a while, and will re-open when said episode is ready to show.

IF they do release it on Amazon and iTunes....PLEASE RESPECT those that do not have access to those venues and keep this episode as spoiler free as possible.

THANKS,

Kelly :)

Opening the thread back up since it has been confirmed that this episode will show next week.

From talking with people that have seen this episode there are not major continuity problems except of course the relationship between James and Lucy....AND you may get a nice little look into Hank Henshaw.

Enjoy.... :)
