Hi all,

Just as a thinking exercise, if the world had been different and Christopher had gotten to do a fifth Superman film what do you think it would have been?

On another forum someone said it would have been cool to see him fight Brainiac played by Max von Sydow. I could also have seen them doing a proper World’s Finest movie maybe with Keaton?

Well, as posted in the vids, Brainiac was definitely going to be the villain in Superman 5 , though by the early 90s, there could have been a variety of actors who played him.

I guess it would depend if it were another Canon film or if WB actually made it themselves.

An actor, who could have been Brainiac in a bigger budgeted WB Superman film in that time period, could have been Alan Rickman ( Die Hard, Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves).

In terms of a Batman/ Superman film, there was apparently an idea kicking around that they could have a crossover film, though , I don't think it ever went beyond spit balling an idea .

In terms of could it have happened, it's an interesting question.

As a fan, I would have loved to see Keaton's Batman interact with Reeves Superman , but would Keaton or Burton be down for that , in the early 90s ?

I dunno .

Reeve apparently suggested his Superman have a cameo as sort of an in joke in Batman 89, but they said "no".

So, if anything, I think Reeve could have been open to it .

At the same time , who would the villain, or villains be, in a World's Finest film?

Yeah that’s a good question. I guess Lex and joker team up with Doomsday.

Someone on another forum suggested Andre the Giant as Doomsday or David Prowse which would have been insane. Would have been extra sad if that was Christopher’s last film though

Doomsday's first appearance was in November 1992, two months before Andre would pass away. Even when he filmed Princess Bride he was in poor health, as his back was so bad he had to have help holding Robin Wright up in his final scene in his the movie. No way was he going to be able to wear the prosthetics required to play Doomsday.

Interestingly enough, Hulk Hogan was rumored to be considered for Doomsday during Superman Lives development. That was during the NWO/Hollywood era of Hogan's career with his massive WCW contract.

They should’ve gone all out and gotten Scott Hall as Joker and Kevin Nash as Lex.

Superman is fighting Lex and Joker. Doomsday comes out to help Superman, then BOOM. Heel turn.
