Justice League Superman: Black Suit or Blue/Red Suit?

With the news that Snyder's Cut of "Justice League" has finally been confirmed for release, I figured that now would be a good time to create a thread about this.

For anyone who's been following Snyder's Vero account for over the past year, you would know that Snyder had intended to have Henry's Superman wear his black suit (inspired by the "Return of Superman" storyline) for the entire duration of the film. Snyder was planning on having Superman go through a journey where he would ultimately reclaim his original costume in the next installment of "Justice League" (back when Snyder was still committed to do the sequels).

Now that Snyder has been given free reigns to complete his cut as he had originally envisioned, it's a fair to assume that he may digitally alter Superman's costume so that it appears as the black suit from the comics.

I have already stated on where my stance is with this topic but I am curious to hear on how everyone else feels about this.

Which version of the suit do you guys prefer for this film?

Depending on his arc of the film/miniseries, I think him coming back with the black and eventually switching to the traditional blue and red towards the climax is probably the most sensible option.

I can see two options--

Classic the whole way through as in the theatrical.
Or black from scout ship to final battle, with the shirt rip and take off being the classic colours.

I guess I'd be fine with either, but if this is to be our only 'true' JL film, then I'd prefer the classic colours.

I’m going with black, specifically because I don’t imagine Zack is going for a “true” JL film.

But I’d like to see both, really.

Also I’d much rather see the black suit without a cape and with a metallic shield like in the comics, not just a desaturated version of his normal suit.

I guess it's really going to depend on how Snyder views this project. Will he treat this film as the conclusion of his "DCEU Trilogy"? Or will he edit this film to mirror what he originally had in mind when he was working on his multi-film arc? If he's going for finale then it makes more sense to keep Superman's costume blue/red.

However if he just wants to use this opportunity to show audiences on what he originally had in mind, before BvS's reception, then he may just have Superman wear all black for the entire film.

By blue and red I thought you mean it like that time that superman was divided into 2 guys with electrical powers.

Im cool with the black suit but the blue suit is more poetic and fitting and just visually looks more iconic when Superman comes back to life.

Well prior to this week's announcement, someone had been working on a fan-edit where they would alter Superman's costume to the black suit that Snyder had in mind.

I guess we can get an idea of what Snyder's version will look like if he goes down the same route.

That's news to me. When and where did he say that?

The last thing that I remember him saying on VERO was that HIS Superman would wear all black. He also mentioned that Superman was only going to return to his traditional colors after going down a journey through the course of several films.

I have my doubts about Supes wearing the black suit at all. Wasn't it a dead giveaway with the Scout Ship clip where the chambers are expanding with each suit as Clark walks by and he walks right past the black version? Kal clearly chooses the classic red and blue over any else. He's fond of it. That's his destiny.

My guess is that Snyder had to significantly alter his plans for Superman's arc (wearing the black suit until he returns to the classic one) after the negative reaction to BvS.

Hence why he filmed Superman with his classic colors and only paid homage to it the first time around. Now that he has free reigns, he may choose to go back to his orginal idea where Superman chooses the black suit by digitally alering the costume in his new cut. I could be wrong though.

Did you watch the live stream the other day? He described the suit basically as everyday clothes for Kryptonians, so I'd probably rule out an organic colour change situation.
