But "they" want partnerships with those people who do want DCU subs. As the head of AMC once said in a seminar I was in, "it's all about cultivating relationships with content providers." And it was performing adequately enough by SyFy's standards to take that gamble of renewal considering its final episodes were especially well-received by viewers, so there was a chance it could find a stronger audience via streaming. It didn't. Hence cancellation.This, specifically, is not sound:
"Add to that the added incentive of trying to get subs for the DCU app, and it seems perfectly obvious to me why they'd renew it with that kind of budget."
The "they" that renewed it are a different "they" than want DCU subs.
