I maintain that Rose is quite serviceable in the lead role.  But in any case, I think the importance of “great performance” in these types of shows is overstated.  For instance, you could easily convince me that Benoist is the Meryl Streep of the Arrowverse; she’s a very talented lady.  But thespian proficiency can’t save bad writing.  Indeed, it’s almost distracting to see 
tour de force acting wasted on ham-fisted dialogue in a dumb scene.  (Witness, for instance, Benoist and McGrath’s FoS scene in the recent “Tremors.” 

)  IOW, I’ll take serviceable acting and better writing over an Emmy-worthy performance and crappy writing.
And 
Batwoman is better written.  At least so far.  Who knows what a hypothetical second season will bring?  The Arrowverse series tend to devolve into convolutions in short order.
