It's called SUPERMAN: APOKOLIPS. It is not a Superman Man Of Steel (SR sequel). It is actually an original story.

I think he meant that it could be adapted for MoS.

....he knows its not THE script for mos...

What we got here is... failure to communicate.

GET SINGER OUTTA THERE AND REEL IN DONNER!

You're kidding me, right? I know many want Singer gone, but Donner can't direct a good Superman movie anymore. Not to mention it been 30 years since he did the first film!! He isn't the only person who can direct Superman, so forget about it. Not going to happend. I'm sure he even wouldn't do it anymore. He is also too old for a film like Superman now.

Donner is NOT too old. That mentality is what is killing the film business. The more experience you gain with age, the better you are...ESPECIALLY as a director or writer.

Yeah he may not do it, but to call a director too old is ridiculous. Is Spielberg too old for Superman? Is Ridley Scott too old? Is DePalma too old? Is Francis Ford Coppolla too old? Is James Cameron too old????

Come on man be realistic. This youth centric world is getting out of hand. Kids can't run everything.

As for a sequel to Superman, I do agree that we need a new direction. It isn't about Donner's age, it is just about the fact he has done his take and we need not re visit that incarnation of the character.

Yo moderator, Newage has pm'ed me with a much more accustomed version for this thread. So please can you close this thread.

SINGER OUT, PLEASE DONNER AND CAVIEZEL! I AM BEGGING YOU! DONNER AND CAVIEZEL!

Yeah mods, close this thread. I made a much clearer and informative version of it. Kindly 8Blades agreed for me to do so. Cheers.

Donner is NOT too old.

Dude, Donner is 77 yrs. old & will be 78 on April 24th. He is almost pushing 80 in 2 yrs. from now. He is way older than Spielberg, Scott, DePalma, etc.

That mentality is what is killing the film business. The more experience you gain with age, the better you are...ESPECIALLY as a director or writer.

Nah. It not what killing the business. I'm not saying we should get some very young director like 21 of age, but we shouldn't get a guy who is almost 80 to do a big action film. Not to mention with how long it been since he direct Superman, it wouldn't work anymore. Plus, he made some of STM very campy, that I wouldn't want it again.

Yeah he may not do it, but to call a director too old is ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous when the man is almost 80. You ever heard any man that is old as 80 done anything big action film that is like Superman & require $200 millions or more? Sure there might have been directors of that age still making films, but that on film that is drama type & not big action film like Superman.

Is Spielberg too old for Superman? Is Ridley Scott too old? Is DePalma too old? Is Francis Ford Coppolla too old? Is James Cameron too old????

Like I said, those men aren't too old compare to Donner. Weak.

And Coppolla is not a director that make film like Spielberg, Cameron, etc. btw. He do more on story telling that don't need action.

Come on man be realistic. This youth centric world is getting out of hand. Kids can't run everything.

When did I said kids should run the movie business? I may say Donner is too old, but it doesn't mean I want 20ish to do Superman. :oldrazz:

Easy NEWAGE. It'll be closed when its closed, and not a moment sooner.

Remember, the Mods are very busy, and patience is a virtue.

hey how about this:

do something along the lines of "kingdom come"

and by this i mean an older, wiser superman dissillusioned with humanity. no matter how much he does, humans are never happy. they complain about him. they blame him. people wait for him to do something instead of taking their own action.

of course you have to end the movie with supes having faith in humans...but make it clear that he feels overstretched and maybe he feels like retiring like in "kingdom" but something happens where he feels like he is needed...

then if this movie is successful build upon it by doing the "prequels"

we dont need a reboot showing us all the stuff we already know

good idea? bad idea?

do i make sense?

If Supes is older then why doesn't Jason take over? If you went this route then you might as well call it Superboy ;)

i dont mean a movie continuing from the current storyline. i mean doing a sort of "reboot" without actually doing a reboot.

does that make sense to you?

we ll know the origin...do a movie reverse style..work backwards

can i break it down any simpler for you?

oh yeah, wink right back at you:cwink:

:o

That is funny because that idea is very much like what this fan script does but not exactly.

i thought the BB2 trailer is rather... poor visually.

if your speaking on the behalf of the the Dark Knight trailer please do the following...

1. Find the tallest building possible
2. Go up tot the top floor
3. THROW YOURSELF OFF

the Dark Knight trailer is probably the best trailer ive ever seen... ima superman fan but batman owns us like little ****es

gotta agree... the TDk trailer is beautiful

and Superman really does need that re-imagination... it's gotta get out of its Donner infancy

The Nolan Batman series has truly made us forget about the previous movies and has set itself apart creating its own identity. One can truly appreciate that. One could only wish they did the same for Superman a few years ago.

they had every opportunity in 06, but of course, they didn't take it

I agree with this thread completely. Superman needs a reboot, a new way of telling the story but with the classic iconic needs of the character kept in tact. Singer tried to hard to keep only the iconic imagry from the 1980's movies and that was a BAAAAAAAD idea.

Smallville has tried treading on new ground, but I don't think it has broken enough ground with people yet because of two things,

1. They haven't yet shown him as Superman, which will be the defining moment in how we as the fans can take the show to heart.

2. The young JLA stuff has gotten a bit old, campy at times, and rather annoying to some. People watch Smallville every week in the hopes of getting some glimps of what is going to make Clark Kent into Superman.

With this in mind Smallville COULD be what is needed to make this change, but if not than someone else intirely needs to take over a re-imagining process for the character. Hell I wouldn't have any problem with them handing it to Nolan. He would make sure to present the most believable side of an Alien boy from outer space raised by farmers to become the greatest superhero of all time, which is out there to befin with but so was a guy who dressed like a giant Bat and kicked Mafia and Clown ass. Hell that way we might actualy end up with a Batman/Superman crossover movie...and it would make some damn sense.

??? one needs to jump off from a tall bdg in order to get the trailer??? weird concept...

yap, i'm a jeolous superman fans. but i want BB2 to have huge success too, so that it would somehow benefit to the new superman movie.

but the 2 times i saw it in the cinema, it's not impressive at all. compare to spidey2's; the car throwing into peter's conversation & spidey3's; the mirror image of dark spidey on the highrise, the impacts were so overwhelming and wow. the BB2 trailer is just like another car/motorbike chasing; detective type of movie. kinda bored and not drawing for attention.
