Batman Begins Superman Returns, or Someboy Explain This To Me

You really can't compare Superman Returns and Batman Begins Box office. I mean if look at what Superman went up against and then look at what Batman went up against. I bet you if POTC cam out a month or two later instead of a week then SR the box office numbers would be alot different.

I wonder how TDK will fair at the B.O.? Since the Joker will be the main villian, and he seems to be the most well known among the public and all?

It'll be a huge, that's for sure. I think people will interested to see what the Joker will be like this timke around.

And, you don't even have to be FOR Ledger, either.....I think the curiosity in and of itself will be a big part of the marketing for the film.

Regardless, Superman Returns took four months to merely crack 200 million. Given the money spent and the character involved, it should have reached that plateau a lot sooner. It had a Wednesday opening and still couldn't do better than most blockbusters with three-day oepenings. Like I've said before, moviegoers have had all kinds of variations of Superman on television, that a new theatrical film isn't all that special. Four seasons of Superboy, four seasons of Lois & Clark, one season of that CBS animated series, the Timm/Dini-verse Superman animated series, Justice League, and Smallville in its sixth season. Overexposure killed the character's relevance in the medium of film. We were, and are continuing to get the milk for free. Why would we want to buy the cow?

not really, and i really wish batman fans would stop treating him like he's nothing more than a cult figure only enjoyed by a select number of fans...when he clearly isnt.

Bull crap Superman would have reached it mark sooner had it not been for POTC 2. You really want to judge things look at what Batman went up against and then look at what Superman went up against. Like I said before if it had not been for POTC I do think Superman Returns would have brought in at least 250 to 300.

I would agree with you Bats.......only it's not just Bat-fans tossing that whole BO thing around.

Tons of angry little Superman fans are doing it. Hard to get on your own when the Superman fans are the ones tossing it around to bash Singer.
