That's how I see it too. All that the comic shows is that Lois hadn't realized the child was Superman's yet. The age of the child still matches with the child being Superman's. Plus the general public does not read the prequels. It comes off pretty clearly that the kid is Superman's. If they went back on it now, that'd be horrible. I love the movie as it is. I've always liked the kid being Superman's.

Well unforunately we wont know either way till the sequel.

As I've said, she must've started having sex pretty soon after Supes departure if she even thought it could be Richards. Doesn't seem like to she took much time to get over the man she was "destined" for.

The kid threw a piano how does that leave the paternity up for discusion.

The comic made it seem that lots of time had passed and she was slowly growing closer to Richard.

It's Supes' simply because you can't make a saviour a homewrecker. Having the kid be his will make the break-up easier for audiences to accept. Especialy since they're not even married. It's still pretty @$$h0le though.

We don't know how long the gestation period is for a kryptonian. You're thinking human terms, it might have taken longer than nine months.

That's just stretching.

The book made it seemed like lots of time had past too. I'm sure the comic is just meant to through you off, but I'm even more convinced since these comics were pinned by Singer and the writers, that none of them are good romance guys. Funny...maybe they are trying to make it up to Cyke for screwing him over with Jean in their contribution to X-Men...idk. He' gets to bang Supes lady...great.

However, adding mystery to a love story that involves children draws away from the love, especially if it's not a murder mystery with a nice Alpha male to protect you.

The comic is meant to fool you...I'm sure.

Not at all. This is an unusal birth by all accounts. Jason was a premie, he seems to have many physical weaknesses/allergies. Why would the differences stop there.

But its in continuity....so how does that work?

LOL...in continuity with SR, which is vague...so it's meant to add to the confusion.

The comic made it seem that lots of time had passed and she was slowly growing closer to Richard.

Yep. This is what baffled and disappointed me about the comic, too. I'd been hoping it would enlighten us about the timeline but... it didn't.

FWIW, I don't think there's any way they'll retract the "he's Superman's son" in the next movie. I don't believe that the piano thing can be explained any other way, and also, they had Lois believe it, had Superman believe it, and had what I believe is a majority of the general audience believe it. I think it would be playing viewers for a fool, and Superman himself for a fool, for them to say in the sequel... "Ha! Gotcha!" And that would not be good at all.

Think we'll get some answers in the sequel about what happened, when? I sure hope so.

Ya I hope Jason is Superman's son....I just dont see how it makes sense in the context of the comic.

the kid would have to be supermans kid, he had sex with Lois as a human being in superman 2. Thus one must assume the kid is gonna be human to.

One could assume that, but if he did indeed toss a piano across the room than he is not totally human.

Intriguing. Jason Lane huh? I dunno if anyone else has mentioned this, but does this make little Jason's Kryptonian name Jay-El (JL)?

Jay-El? hehehehe... He can hang out with Jay-Z

That just makes everything even more confusing as hell...

I'll repeat the comic is meant to add to the confusion...lol...and net a few bucks for DC because idiots like myself are willing to invest in this. They saved and hyped the Lois Lane one as like...the one that would unveil the mystery of Jason Lane...uhhh...Jason White...but it just confuses you more. That's vague sex for ya...gotta love it:up:

He thought, though since Jason didnt react to Kryptonite....I dont know if Lex continued to believe that.

But Im sure theyll resolve this is the best way possible, one way or the other....

But its too soon to speculate. Theres more going on here than we know.

I trust the men in charge, they delievered a stellar film.

err jason didnt flinch at the kryptonite but umm i think luthor kinda picked who his dad was when he threw a freaking piano at his henchmen !!!

Don't forget though Jason would only be half Kryptonian meaning his reaction to kryptonite shouldn't be as extreme as Clark's

Except that he's a child and has multiple illnesses which should mean that he'd react just as quickly and badly as a healthy adult.

Well, the comic actually does answer the question if you ask me. Clearly, the moment of conception was during Superman II, that's why Lois is greatly surprised in the film when Jason comes to her rescue.

In the sequel, I have a hunch that Lois will try to get some answers as to how Jason can be Superman's son.

Clearly, Jason is this weird hybrid being. Illnesses and yet he has some type of superpowers that will probably manifest itself more as he gets older.

The novel isnt supposed to be accurate, its just an adaption by Wolfman.

The prequel comics are 100% canon.

Read it for yourself...its all there.
Where can I find these?

With all the controversy, confussion, and possible subterfuge (aka trickery), wouldn't it be interesting if Jason was an ultra secret plot hatched by *drum roll* DARK SEID!!!!!!!

JASON = Dark Seid's DARK SEED!!!

Now this comic was written by Singer, Mike Doughety and Dan Harris to explain the timeline (history) of the film.

However it raises some interesting points.

The issue makes it clear that Lois believed that Richard WAS the father of Jason.

Lois also did not appear pregnant prior to meeting Richard and said "Oh Richard, why'd I let you do this to me" as she was giving birth.

I wonder if Superman is really the father or something happened to Lois' body in the FOS that would cause her to produce a child with partial Kryptonian genetics?

It also officially confirms 5 years passed since Superman's disapearance which makes Jason 4 (close to 5).

I really think Singer and DC left this paternity question open ended to gauge the fan responses before revealing the true outcome.....

But I think theres more to this than we initially believed...

For the sake of Superman & fans like me, lets all hope and pray he is NOT the father of Jason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:down
