I know that by Kal-El 8 claimed it glowed before so I was saying.

It's turned light green, When Lex took it out of the lead box .

Since Lois was given the "Super-kiss" by Superman/Clark Kent at the end of Superman II, and received amnesia which wiped all her memory of the period she spent with Superman after learning his secret. I wonder if she can still recall the brief fling they had at the Fortress of Solitude? This could explain why she develops a relationship with Richard White so quickly after Supe's disappearance, and why she thought Jason is Richard's child.

If the Kryptonite did affect him and Lex got his proof that the child was Superman's.....he would have killed him right there on the spot. Obviously he would realize the kid would have powers in that case and not leave one single henchmen to guard him

Lex got his proof either way that he was Supermans Son & then he got the hell out of there

Your watching a bootleged version of the movie .

Ive seen it twice on Imax, even after you told me to watch for it. The Kryptonite does not glow. Theres no glowing effect.

The K knife that Lex used to stab Supes didnt even glow.

Ok, I have watched this damn scene frame for frame. The kryptonite does not glow, there is only a slight reflection when the camera is behind Lex focusing on Jason. Though in the scene just prior to Lex taking out the kryptonite Jason is wide eyed and sitting pretty straight up, though as soon as the K is out he gets a stoned look on his face. That is exactly what happened. One other point, who the hell cares, the kid throws the damn piano across the room hitting the step destroying the legs and killing the dude. Enough proof I think.

Proof that he can access Kryptonian power but not proof that Kryptonite affects him.

Again, if Lex waved Kryptonite like that infront of Superman, he'd be on the floor in pain....it would be pretty obvious.

Jason barely flinched and he had that same look on his face during Lex's little 'wrong' speech.

Well Superman had kryptonite all over the place when he landed on new krypton and he did not seem to know his powers were being drained. Which I would think would be more in the lines of what would actually happen, the kryptonite would more likely drain his solar energy than just take him to the ground. When exposed to radioactive material it actually takes awhile to break down the cells.

That would be a contrast to all the other interpretations where Reeve, Cain and Superboy immediately got violently sick upon close exposure to Kryptonite.

I got the impression that "Crystal Kryptonite" is not pure Kryptonite but something artificial Lex has. Not as much kick as the real stuff.

But then again, the "Krytonite glows" stuff is not true in the movie.

i watched it again this afternoon (and no, not a bootlegged version of it either), and there was definitely no color change to the kryptonite. in fact, i would say that jason's non-response to it is probably why lex didn't do anything more with him.

there was absolutely no glow at all.

I don't know if it works this way in Superman fandom, but in X-Men fandom we talk about "movieverse" and "comicverse" and we don't really expect them to agree. So I wouldn't have trouble believing that in Superman movieverse, Jason is Superman's son, but in Superman comicverse, Jason is Richard's son.

To me, watching the movie, it seemed like Lois knew all along that Jason was Superman's son. Her surprise seemed to be merely surprise that sickly Jason was at last demonstrating superpowers.

This movie would make more sense if in the last movie the character of Richard had existed.

x2, saw it again today.

Doesn't glow and Jason doesn't flinch, he just stares at it when Lex first takes it out.

I've seen the movie twice and am torn as to whether the kid reacted to the Kryptonite at all. I hope this will be in the screenplay, which I think will be available to purchase soon. Maybe someone who buys the screenplay will be kind enough to let us know whether the writers meant for Jason to react or not.

You all are wrong.Jason did not react to Green K.Lex let them go because he thought that Jason did not react to Green K at all.Jason will be twice stronger than Superman. He will become steel if he goes to Superman's secret place. He does not have allergy to Green K at all. He probably can switch from human to superpower on/off mode by himself. Because he is half hybrid just like Species.Lets wait and see !!

He definitely "reacted" to it.

He couldn't take his eyes off it.

However it's pretty obvious it didn't cause him "pain".

I didn't get any reaction from the kid, which is why Lex's questioning Lois on it was wierd. It's like that literally came out of the nowhere...with no context.

I cannot believe Singer made sex and children vague in a Superman story. He could have cleared that up with a flash back to SII...or something. Or...explained it then and there.

I so hoped this is cleared up in the sequels.
