Sure theres clips for the other Elite members, but what about Manchester Black? He's the best out out of the lot IMO. The hat is an interesting character too. that magic hat is awesome.
I got a chance to see the film early from good friend of mine, and D-A-M-N.
You wouldn't think that this film is the standard 70+ minute duration that all of the previous DC films have been because a lot goes on in this film imho.
Honestly, after seeing this film, I really hope that filmmakers like Snyder learn to incorporate some of the elements from this film's storyline and into a live action one. There's a lot of rich material here.
Also, they used essentially the same heroic theme for superman that they had used for his character in Superman: Doomsday.
If anything, my only gripes with the film are this:
1. Character Designs: Like some have said, I wasn't a fan of the character designs for this film as I think that they truly look awful; it was like the only distracting thing for me in the film. If the story wasn't as good as it was in this film, then I wouldn't have bothered watching it all the way. I wish that they had used the designs from the DCAU or even from Young Justice like Justice League: Doom had done.
2. Spoiler:
It's more or less alluded to that Superman ISN'T the only hero on Earth, especially with the reference to Martian Manhunter and something interesting that he had done for Superman as way of counteracting certain things. Be that as it may, the strange thing was that despite that, you don't really get a sense that these heroes are doing anything in the world because with all of the emphasis on how troubled the world is, you never see a glimpse of the heroes and their activities elsewhere and you'd think that they would have dropped by to help Superman in the final act.
Aside from those things, this film was really great. Worth checking it out imho.
Btw, just finished watching Superman vs. The Elite, and the movie was good. Best DC Original Animated Movie so far, imo.
And I agree with hereolee10, the character designs was the weakest link of the movie. And imo, the animation style as well. All of it seems like an anime studio tried to imitate American style animation.
Had doubts when watching the movie in the first 15-20 minutes, but it picked up very very nicely after that.
Overall, 8.5/10.
P/S: DC really have to make another animated Superman series.
Umm... it's a direct to DVD movie (which mean low budget - i.e < $5 million). It is a far gone conclusion that the animation would not be as good as one made for a major motion picture. It's not bad actually - on a par with "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes".
I really didn't mind the animation. I thought the movie was awesome, the story would make an epic live action flick.
The end with Superman going SuperBatman on the Elite was hair standing awesome!!! Like imo it beat out the end battle of JLU to become the most epic Superman moment in any live media adaption. Like he was kind of terrifying there for a little bit.
Overall I'd give it a 9/10 and say it's my favorite DC animated flick.
