Supernatural-Season 6 - Part 2

Me either. "The Man Who Would Be King" felt noiresque, but that is the only one I got that vibe from.

I don't like the Butch & Sundance comment. We all know how that ends.

I thinks that's the only way for the show to end. Hell, back when it was still on its 5 season plan, I always figured it would end with Sam and Dean sacrificing themselves to Hell to save everyone.

I was kinda close though, I'm pretty sure had they not been picked up for season 6, Bobby, Castiel and Sam would have stayed dead in the finale.

the season was noir esque in certain ways... lots of "who can you trust", lots of twists in the plots and things seeming to branch off into separate stories but are secretly related..., lots of back stabbing, that's all noir-like material

The problem the show (whenever it ends) now faces is that it already DID the "perfect" ending to the story - it was supposed to end with Sam gone and Dean retiring to the quiet life. Effectively a flip flop of where they once were - Sam playing the hero and Dean accepting "real" life and leaving hunting behind.

But they got Season 6, so Sam got resurrected.

We'll see I suppose. At this point I think the "best" way for the show to conclude would involve the boys finally quelling the instability in heaven, icing Crowley and effectively restoring some sort of "normalcy" to the playing field - and then riding off into the sunset in pursuit of the next job. No Angels, no Apocalypse... just back to what they presumably did for the first 20 years of their lives. Hunting relatively common place monsters.

Highway to Hell would almost work.

But they'd probably go with Wayward Son. Which is probably perfect.

Finally caught the finale. Pretty sucky until Sam got free(I hate memory loss/Momento type stuff) but then ish got real!

Funny how Castiel was acting at the end. That's kinda what I reckon Old Testament God to have been like.

Maybe interesting comment from a Supernatural con from Jared:

I had heard that Jensen had said something in his coffee lounge on Saturday about season 8 being a possibility, so I asked Jared about it. He started explaining in great detail how a TV show gets picked up and stays on air, and which part the network and the studio play in it (which was all stuff I already knew, but hey, I didn’t wanna interrupt ) and went on saying that Dawn Ostroff hadn’t been a big fan of the show (oh, really?) but now that she has been fired (he said he’s pretty sure the network allowed her to save face and say she resigned, but he thinks she was fired because she just didn’t do a great job), the tables have finally turned. The CW’s new president is a big fan of the show and practically the first thing he did was approach them and ask them if they were willing to stay on for an additional season if the network decided to order one (since their contracts run out after season 7). Both Jared and Jensen expressed their interest and Jared said as long as the show doesn’t get “stupid” – which he thinks won’t happen because they have great writers – he’s happy to stay on. (I just wanna say: this does NOT mean that season 8 is a sure thing, it just means that if The CW decides next year that they wanna order an additional season, both Jared and Jensen seem willing to renew their contracts!!)

So the new CW president may actualy LIKE Supernatural unlike Dawn Ostroff (previous president). Wonder what could this lead to?

Maybe if the new guy is a Cass fan he can try to bluff tptb to bring Cass back to series regular or the show will get canceled. I know a lot of fans are calling Sara out for out right lying saying that Cass would be a regular before the up fronts only to find out he is barely in the next season. Everyone is pissed about the Cass no longer being a series regular situation & are doing the typical fan boy / fan girl thing saying if Cass is not in the show after the Premiere they won't be watching anymore. So we will see what happens

Season 8!!! are you kidding me?! How do people not understand that there is only so far you can take a story before it gets old. For gods sake!

I love these characters, but I want to keep loving them. I don't want to be squeezed out every bit of love I have so that it turns to nothingness.

This season looking back was fractured & the story seemed to not know what it wanted to be. That will only get worse I assume.

But I know I am pissing in the wind. This is a country that is morbidly obese. We don't know when to just put the f**king fork down!

I didnt like season 6 that much other than the episode in ourworld, and the Cas ep and the last bit of the finale


That being said, it's still a very watchable show and Im still interested to see what happens to the characters so I'll keep watching

All of this sounds pretty perfect on how to end Supernatural.

Although, I'd prefer an AC/DC song over Kansas. Kansas is their unofficial "Road So Far" theme, not really their "driving" theme.

This could get interesting...more promos...a bigger budget...hrm...

but, if that's the case, how come they couldn't keep Kripke and Edlund as producers or keep Misha as a regular?

I thought Gamble said Kripke and Edlund were both still producers.

As for Misha... if the storyline goes in the way that the finale leads us to belief, it only makes sense that he wont be around quite as often.

He may have handed the keys of creation over to those living in it, but that doesn't mean he'll take to kindly to Castiel taking his throne. I would quite like to see the return of Bhalthazar and the Archangels (not Raphael, aside from the "Man who would be" episodes he never did much.
