Iron Man Swank and Jackson confirmed for Iron Man!

I wouldn't go too crazy about Swanks looks... definitely no Jennifer Garner... just seems that its too soon to be introducing all these new characters when Marvel is only beginning to get its feet off the ground... but I am glad they are setting up much bigger things... I hope the Iron Man franchise paves the way for a kick ass Avengers flick...

I'd say Swank could easily compete with Garner in the looks department, judging from those pics up above...:word:

I never actually thought that Garner was that hot looking myself. I don't know what the big deal with her is.

yea both Garner and Swank look decent in certain angles. Most of the time they look like dudes. But I gotta admit Garner looked hot in Daredevil.

Thats the only reason why I brought it up... of course no woman is as hot as their comic book counterpart in real life... but when you compare Garner's superhero to a possible Swank superhero in the future... there won't be a comparison between the two.

yea that's for sure... Swank is wayyyy better than Garner...

Yeah except Garner has Afflecks box office poison all on her now. It's over.

I don't really care about Swank's character, just that she's in it, and that she's not very ugly at all. Also, Sam the man, great choice... so happy.

,
?

don't like it. Swank is fine and wouldn't be a bad Black Widow...but an inside joke from an ultimate storyline reference is not funny to me.
William Petersen is the best choice...imo.

I don't see Peterson as Black Widow:huh::woot::cwink:

"Inside joke" ?

I think he was aiming for Fury. I maybe wrong there.

For Black Widow -cringes-

Well, he's a step up above David Hasslehoff lol Oh god, a nightmare of a movie.

Samuel Jackson i think can pull off Fury quite nicely, calculated cool man who has killed a lot of people, essentially Jewels from Pulp Fiction if he was working for the government... without all the shouting that is.

"Inside joke" ?

of course for Nick Fury:woot:

Umm...i haven't actually read the actual ultimate-verse comic myself...but there was a joke in the books one time when he asked who should play Nick Fury if a movie were ever made about him...the answer was Sam Jackson...its an inside joke imo and again...its almost like "juggernaut b*tch" joke in X3...its seems stupid to add him just because of that.

Jackson actually had to ok his actual looks to be used for the Ultimates series, so it's not really that much of a surprise or a joke, though Millar played it that way. It's just a logical progression, that was going to happen at some point. It's more of a well made plan.

Well the inside joke is here:
This is great news. Admittedly I've never read any of 616 Fury, but i really like Ult. Fury.

This makes this news all the more hilarious. from Ultimates #4

and my theory on why is this http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=11936310&postcount=6

If it's true,
they are definitely preparing the groung for the Avengers movie, which will look like the Utlimates
(keeping in mind that the Ultimates were visually design to be put to screen by famous actors....Ultimate verse being there to create a new audience that doesn't want to have to read back 35 years of continuity, and by magic/chance [or smart business decision :cwink:], it appears that comic are becomming popular on screen... So big man with big cigar saying:"let's attract the new readers with familiar-like faces, so when movie opportunity is there, people will go and see super-people they know and recognize)
That was for the background story lol:woot:

Now, if True, Great news and another Cool factor for Iron Man:heart:

and for Jackson approval on the look it's here http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=11936702&postcount=12

Samuel L. Jackson Wants to be Nick Fury

The Ultimate Avengers dream of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ramrod director may come true.

Snakes on a Plane star Samuel L. Jackson told MTV he wants to star in a super-hero film, Nick Fury in particular.

The Ultimates comic book and animated DVDs drew on Jackson for inspiration for their depiction of the S.H.I.E.L.D. commander.

"I see [Marvel movie producer] Avi Arad a lot, because we live in the same neighborhood," Jackson said. "I express my interest in [working with him]. I always wanted to be Iron Man, because he was always like the rich dude who created this whole thing. He's not really kept as a superhero, he just creates stuff to make himself a superhero as a rich guy."

Although Iron Man's probably not in the cards, "Nick Fury would be great," Jackson said. "I've been reading Nick Fury since when I was a kid. I collect comics. ... I'm kind of geeky."

Marvel Studios' Nick Fury will be written by Andrew Marlowe ("Air Force One," "Hollow Man," "End of Days") and will be distributed by Paramount.
