'Sword of Truth' aka Legend of the Seeker

I am looking forward to Season: 2. I just ordered Season: 1 DVD on Amazon along with pre ordering Clone Wars: Season - 1 :awesome:

She was in the books and no, nothing ever happens with her and Richard. Though I hope they work in the Richard having like a million chicks in love with him and wanting to marry him thing. Always hilarious.

I wish there was a lot more of that last season, and more of Kahlan being like, "Hands off ****es, he's mine :cmad: !!!" Maybe this season with all those hot Mord-Sith wenches about.

Pluss, Denna is still alive and kicking. Richard let her go.

Well, the Mord Sith are not in love with Richard, it's other women. They simply serve him because he is The Lord Rahl and they are bound to serve the throne even after he gave them their freedom. It's other women. Women from his old village, the queen of the blade masters, witches, sisters of the dark, etc.

I hate that Denna is still alive, because in the books she serves as his link to the spirit world and has a real purpose in the story while being dead. Her being alive and keeping her an enemy is just lame.

Well the new clips are suggesting that Cara might be pursuing Richard. She did come onto him in the season finale.

Also, Denna totally had it in for him.

They can still feasibly do that at some point. It just might happen later.

Well considernig they pretty much tossed out the book why not? Cara's like Richard's best friend, Denna he kills to release her from Darken Rahl's power when he was training him in WFR but who cares right, it's just a book, all they need are character descriptions and what their powers are in this show.

I just sort of see it as an AU of the books.

We see some of the same characters and events but they evolve in and happen in different ways.

After the pilot, I wasn't expecting the boxes of orden to show up or be used at all, but they did. Slightly altered the use. Rahl's fate was also decidedly different.

Giller was also changed dramatically. Also, Richard's brother.

I'm generally OK with it because they generally executed Richard's, Kahlan's, and Zedd's portrayals pretty accurately. And as the season went on, I liked Richard more and more. I liked that Richard maintained his integrity as a character and made many hard choices even when Kahlan and Zedd were against him.

And something like that could still happen to Denna just in a different way. I like the character of Denna so much I want to see her more on the show. Her actress is super hot. I do want her to hook up with and actually fall in love with Richard at some point.

Rumours strongly suggest that Denna is back in season 2 and given the actor's full-time role on the Aussie show "Packed to the Rafters" they might be looking to tie up her storyline (no Mord Sith related pun intended).

I've never read the books, so I'm enjoying the show for what it is. I can understand why the fans of the book are peeved, but very few books/comic books/whatever are ever translated faithfully. Heck, just look at what TPTB behind LOTS did with Greek mythology, Roman history, etc on "Hercules" and "Xena". Hercules went from being some arrogant jerk who murdered his entire family in a fit of rage to the wholesome guy next door (the family being killed off in the first episode by his evil step-momma Hera).

Cheers.

That's too bad. But still, she's totally hot, and more of her on TV is good.

What's this Packed To The Rafters show and is it worth seeking out?

It's as if the writers of the show never read the books, just the first couple pages of the Cliffs Notes. Heck, they went as far as turning Rahl into Richard's brother rather than his father. That I don't mind, but when Rahl died Richard should have became the new Lord Rahl.

or you know... Rahl could have been lying...

but yeah shows are rarely anything like the books. my wife has the same gripe about True Blood and I did about EarthSea and Eragon but so what? They are fun in their own right.

My one disappointment in the show's writers is that they seem to just take generic storylines from whichever sources they can find. Several of the episodes remind me of plots from Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Particularly the painting episode and the ghost Seeker one. But oh well, it's still fun.

I really hate Photoshop. At least put everyone on the same perspective plane!

And Regan is supposed to by on Attack of the Show and Fox 5 San Diego this month.

I started watching this show on Netflix over my fall break from school, and I just finished the first season. I've never read the books, but I like the show for what it is. It's a somewhat corny but fun take on the fantasy genre with plenty of eye candy, whether it's Bridget Regan, the Mord Sith, or even just the gorgeous New Zealand scenery. I'm very much looking forward to season 2.

Oh, and did I mention that Bridget Regan = ?

Oh man, you really need to read those books. The level of sex, violence and torture in there is up there on GRRM's level ... except SOT has more torture. I guess we'll never see Kahlan riding naked into battle or Nicci being sent to the tents to be raped by 100 men.

Yeah dude, you REALLY need to read the books. I finally finished the series a week or two ago, and it's now equal with Star Wars.

I was in Borders yesterday and casually kept an eye out for Wizard's First Rule, but the graphic novel section ended up sucking up most of my attention (as is typically the case) so I didn't find it.

Re: Posters

Look pretty bad. The first one was bad enough, but the second one with the levitating/jumping/falling/whatever Richard and Kahlan is just terrible. What's wrong with some nice normal looking posters? It's not like they don't have enough pretty pictures of Richard and Kahlan.

Re: Packed to the Rafters

I wouldn't watch the show if I didn't have to. It's a local (Australian) "family" comedy series, with touches of drama.

As I understand from mates that are forced to watch by their girlfriends, Jessica Marais is the only good thing about the show.

Cheers.

Wizard's First Rule is the one I always see the most copies of... whenever you do get around to looking for it, you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Also, your sig cast is perfect.

I bought the first season from amazon and I am waiting to get it. From what I understand, it is extremely far from the books and I doubt they can get back to anything like the story line as written by Terry Goodkind who developped a story that was built up from the very first book.

I don't know, they might be able to right the ship in some ways. Richard has a beard which he does in the second book, but he's not been given the title of Lord Rahl like he is at the end of the first so he doesn't have Mord Sith of his own, though Cara seems to be with him now.
