'Sword of Truth' aka Legend of the Seeker

Bruce Spence in anything is just about awesome except Matrix 3.

I don't mind the changes....considering the connection between Richard and Zedd is still there....to question the :whatever: moment when Richard is cutting arrows out of the air....there is a similar moment in the first book when he cuts a dagger out of the air and the reason for that is
Richard has the capacity for magic and it begins to manifest in his fighting

Well watched it, and liked it again, been re reading the first book, but as i watched this, ummmm where in the story are they lol, i'm lost.

They are adding some things in the first act...in the book, Richard and Kahlan actually cross the boundary alone and eventually get separated later on...

It looks like they will spend most of the season building to a confrontation with Darken Rahl.

In the book there wasn't the D'Haran soldiers getting through the boundary and attacking, and this Fane fellow who stole the book for a while.

I'm wondering how they are going to handle
Richards capture, torture, and captivity by Denna...it's a significant portion of the second act and its pretty brutal

I think they can do that since they will have time to do it. Just make it so at the end of one episode, cliffhanger with Richard getting captured by Denna. But of course the torture will not be as brutal. Denna will probably still fall for Richard and help him escape. However, I predict that Denna will die helping Richard escpae instead of Richard killing her.

I mean in Farscape, you would have the hero John Crichton getting kidnapped by the bad guys and tortured like all the time. I think they can do the same thing here.

i'm afraid they are going to skip some characters by them being in the midlands already, it's a long story they don't need to skip ahead and stuff it's a weekly show there is plenty of time to tell the tell right?

It looks like they are going in their own sort of direction with the story. The pilot, many things happened differently.

Finally got to watch more. I REALLY like this show. I hope it's doing well.
Finally, a quality fantasy series on tv.

Raimi and Tapert have done it again, I will be watching this show until it's cancelled. Or craps out quality-wise.

just finished the first book, and i say again i wish this show was on HBO and done like ROME. show is good , I just know it could be done better on cable.

Just watched this weeks episode, and i think the show is loosely based on a the book. Sadly when I say loosely I mean loooooooooooosely based, where is the search for the boxes. Are they going to change eerything about the series?? The show is good, but not if you read the books, cause the show isn't anything like the book, people aren't afraid of the confessor, *shakes head* I don't understand why all the changes, I really don't.

Crap. I missed it tonight. I'll catch it online tomorrow.

here it comes on twice, once at like 5pm on tbs then again at 9pm on channel cw22, sorry you missed it, good luck tomorrow lobo

I just watched the first two episodes and the production quality is quite shocking. This is probably the most expensive looking pilot I've ever seen. I haven't seen a period piece/fantasy show on tv since Covington Cross.

I'm glad they at least kept the subplot that Zedd is Richard's grandfather, but they let that one out quite early.

It's my understanding that Denna will appear in episode 8.

I liked the show this week. I'm glad they at least kept the attitude that Zedd tricks people rather than uses actual magic. A trick can be just as powerful as magic.

I'm also pretty surprised Zanos likes the show considering it strays so far off the source material.

Why would I care about whether the story of some little known book is adhered to for the sake of a television series?

It's not that little known. It's a long-running best selling book series.

you must care about something for it to make a difference, it's little known to zanos there for zanos don't care. that being said it is a good show, i just wish it were closer to the books myself i do care for the material it comes from, but again the show is good.

i don't think its really all that well in the main stream, i don't know how many times i've had to explain yes its a book series, when ppl ask what are you watching? what's the sword of truth series? i'm in the middle of reading the series myself, just started naked empire. for what it is, the show isn't 1/2 bad. glad to see ppl talkin about it that actually enjoy it here, rather than a bunch of *****ing about all the changes.
i can't wait to see denna and what they do w/ all that. (yes i guess i'm slightly sadistic)

Denna was my favorite part of the first book that I recently finished :D .

She's going to appear in episode 8 from what I understand. I mean they are going to have to sanitize it a lot for this show, but I hope they keep in some of that sexuality and also:

Denna warming up to Richard and making love with him without the agiel.

Richard's a lucky guy he attracts all sorts of hot, crazy women :D .

LoL so true, like batgirl said, so is not half bad, but each episode i watch i find myself wishing it was on HBO and made by thoser that did the show rome. this show would rock there

but that whole sequence is painted very brutally by Goodkind so I wonder how much is going to make it in.....
