Syfy's Helix - from BSG's Ronald D. Moore

Was also one of the shorter episodes coming in at around 35-36 minutes. At least the weakest episode so far was also the shortest.

I knew there'd be some twist to the Reaper guy but a kid seemed too cliched. And on top of that he kills off all those people who were in the elevator too simply. That was meant to be his badass entrance moment and it almost made me laugh at how hard that scene was trying to come off.

Having seen Friday's on the DVR...

MASSIVE SPOILER

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, DANIEEEEEEEEEL!!!!!! Well, at least he can be on the show still via his twin. :csad:. I am loving this series though.

I do admit, the beginning episodes of this series are way too different than the last half. Was not expecting some immortal nwo whatever type of group being behind all of this.

Watched most of this season. Sorry, but in terms of plot and scripting, this show is a ****ing mess.

All the characters are dumber than posts.

Like no one seems ****ing concerned at all that the Vectors can move about the base where ever they want because of the ****ing vents. Phillippe is all like "but there hasn't been a vector attack for days." So ****ing what you dumb moron?! They have access to the vents and can move all about the base.

They don't do anything about the vent issue and continue to use all the other labs which the vectors can get in from using the vents. Hiroshi can see this and doesn't care and does nothing about it.

Hiroshi doesn't want them to leave the base to go after Adrian who has the virus, which makes no sense. He says the ice will take him which is stupid and he knows isn't true. Why is he trying to keep them from getting the core virus samples?

Nothing about this show makes sense. It's badly written and horrible. Hiroshi knows all the answers. He knows everything, but they don't just force him to say what's going on. They just shrug and go about their business half-cocked.

Dr. Jordan, another idiot. She defends Hiroshi by saying he's like the guy who cured smallpox by injecting it into a child. Uh lady, he's the guy that invented this whole stupid vector virus.

Plus they didn't even get all the vectors, some of them still escaped from the vents.

And all those people they were so desperate to save, they let them go un escorted through the elevators to get butchered by Scythe.

This show has become way too reliant on bait and switches.

Kinda guessed that was going to happen to character X as they were live tweeting the episode last night.

God that was sad!:( But I loved when Alan hit the Scythe in the head! That kid is an annoying little ****!

I really hope this show gets renewed.

This show was better before all the immortal Illaria people started showing up.

I just can't take the whiny Draco Malfoy kid seriously as a villain, especially when we get all this ominous talk about The Scythe and "centuries of inflicting pain", "master of tactics", blah blah, and then Alan knocks him out like the little ***** he is. Ooooh, "Scythe", you so scary.

The show has gotten pretty bonkers hasn't it...

Well at least there's one ep left. How bad can it...

I think it's gotten pretty great. But I prefer these pretentious cocky immortals to the black goo zombie stuff. I'm so sick of zombies.

Renewed for Season 2. Wonder where it goes from here? Same locations again?

Syfy on Friday announced that the outbreak drama would return for a second season.

The 13-episode Season 2 will begin production later this year, according to the network.

As bonkers as I think the show's gotten (and I don't hate most of it), I'm glad Syfy is getting back into the game of producing sci-fi shows. I'll also be checking out the new Ascension tv series (starship drama) when they air it.

The only question remaining is if they are going to Alphas this show...

Nice that it's renewed. I don't mind it's gotten off the rails weird. I knew it was never going to be straight forward or as obvious as it appeared. That they are now immortal, some being 500 years(!) old just makes it more interesting. What is the origin of their immortality? As I recall, the virus itself is merely the transportation module to infect others, not the actual reason itself.

Peter!? You bastard!:argh:

And that ending!:awesome:

Meh, not sure I want to give this show another chance. The writing is some of the most convoluted stuff I've seen in quite some time.

I can't believe I watched the entire season in one day. I don't know what to make of the series. It has a simple premise but then it gets so convoluted it makes my head spin. Maybe it's because I'm sick but maybe not.

I like Hiroshi but man that guy can't ever give a straight answer. I really like all the characters on this show. They are all developed nicely.

What I think I know:
There are 500 immortals on Earth. For some reason there can't be any more than 500.
Hiroshi did a terrible thing (according to the immortal rules) by mating with a human and creating Julia. Julia is also immortal.

What I don't understand:
Can humans be made immortal by using the immortal blood?
Where did the immortals come from?
Why can there be only 500?
I really thought Julia's finger was going to grow back but it looks like severe physical injuries are beyond their accelerated healing capabilities.
How the hell did Julia become the leader or Ilaria?
Did Jordan survive the blast? She was pretty close to the blast point. I'm fairly certain she will survive given that they gave us the new plot point of her being pregnant. Damn Allan! I wonder if that kid is going to be an immortal.

I don't know if I love the show but it definitely intrigues me.

Season 2 episode 1 "San Jose" Caleb looked creepy as hell in the gas mask especially at the beginning of the episode when he knocked out Dr. Walker. The new island setting is pretty eerie and I think they nailed the atmosphere well. I like that this season seems to be split between two time periods. "You've never seen Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? What kind of an American are you?" made me laugh. Nice to see Steven Weber show up. Interesting reveal that Dr. Farragut is on the island hiding as a membr of the cult.

I need to see how the show goes with the 2 time periods before I judge it.

I shall now always refer to the new doctor as "Tex".

This was not what I was expecting for season 2. And the show jumping between now and 30 years from now could become a mess. But the preview for the season looks really good.

P.S. Jordan Hayes (Dr. Sarah Jordan) is still insanely and ridiculously adorable!

Episode 2 "Reunion" was kind of boring. Not much actually happens. Sarah finds that Alan is on the island and he refuses to help them. In the future Julia digs up Alan's grave and discovers it's not his body. I thought Steven Weber was surprisingly creepy as Michael the cult leader though.

Episode 3 "Scion" Nice to see Dr. Hatake show up and I honestly wasn't expecting to see him in the future with Julia. I like that he's all crazy and hallucinating. The kids stoning Kyle nearly to death while The Brady Bunch song played was funny. The dinner table scene at the end was kind of awesome.

I swear, this show...

Between the music choices, the kids beating up Tex, and now crazy Hatake with his corpse family, I just have to embrace the absurdity.
