Syndicate

Hmmm I loved the original back in the early 90's. But I dunno, if it gets the core mechanics right maybe it will work.

I remember when many games involved thinking as opposed to really simplistic action games with elements associated with thinking.

See...I seem to miss some of the logic with some things you say, like this.

You seem to think PC games are "the best" and don't like it when things become "consolized." Consoles were the first true game systems, right? Games shouldn't have to look up to PC games when they were behind in the first place just like games don't HAVE to involve thinking. I mean, it's a nice change of pace, usually, but not everyone wants a game where actual strategy and math is involved. I know I personally don't. That doesn't mean I want all CoD all the time, though. I understand that some people prefer the RTS/strategy game genre, it's just not my thing. I tried the demo for Shogun 2 and couldn't get passed the first actual battle. Not because it was too hard, I was too bored. I don't see the fun in watching my characters do the job I told them to, but not have any of the fun of actually doing said job.

I just don't understand the logic of some hardcore PC gamers. I must be missing something.

You must be, as I'm not a "hardcore PC gamer" and yet I ****ing love strategy games and I understand that it's on the PC where technology and innovation is usually driven forward.

Regarding the topic, I've never played Syndicate so I have zero affection of nostalgia for it, but even so, it's ******** like this that makes the gaming industry really ****ing unbearable most of the time these days. Appeal to the dudebros. Everyone else can eat a dick.

Heh. Every five years it's just going to keep switching.

"EA is the new Activision"
"Activision is the new EA"

But I guess they both better watch out because Capcom is nipping at their heels for "most hated game publisher". Keep at it, Capcom. You'll get there some day. :)

That's outragous. I don't like your opinion at all.
I'm going to attack you with words.

That's because everyone else either wont buy the games or they steal them *cough* PC gamers *cough*.

The dudebros have deep pockets and theres a damn s**t ton of em, ie that's where the money is. The bottom line is the bottom line.

I sort of agree. Valve in particular will probably be in alot of trouble. I think it's a pretty poor move on there part to make Dota 2 given how financially un-viable the first one was. If they made it more like Fallout 3 i.e. a first person game but automatically going into a VATS like mode it would probably attract the console crowd (specifically Xboxlive users) and sell alot more. Valve is usually a pretty clever company when it comes to bussiness I have no idea why they didn't do this.

I've read the Gamereactor article on Syndicate and it seems all right, but watching the trailer made me more interested on the game.

Looks pretty damn neat.

I played the orig way back when, didn't know what the hell i was doing though.

That looked pretty cool. I'll wait for my previews so see if it's more unique than just its premise. But it looks nice.

Plus, dubstep is awesome.

This wasn't on my radar at all, until I read a little article that said that the people behind the Riddick games were working this. Watched the Trailers and now it's definitely on my must buy list.

The trailers remind me of Alpha Protocol but not to bad looking

I laughed my ass off at the scene where he bounces the bullets off the door frame, that was kind of cool.

Why do people harp on those stupid things? They don't do anything...and it wasn't a puzzle!

Navigation and puzzle elements. Basically, he walked up to a big thing with "X" signed posted above it and pressed "button awesome" repeatedly. The most greatest bestest button in the whole widest world.

Why is that so much worse than just walking up to a big thing with "X" posted above it and pressing "button awesome" once?
