Tangled Web: 'Spider-Man 3' Re-Shoots Planned, James Franco Reveals

There should be a balance between story and action. There should be a reason why there are fights not just some lame hollywood excuse to let there be as much action and special effects as they can.

Great, more action meens less time for Maguire to over act - derrogatory comment I know, I do like the films (actually I think that they're the bomb shizzle) but I'm glad that this one is going to be all out kick some ass explosive, with three villian - four including sym spidey - JJJ's gonna have a stroke trying to name em all. :)

that little line had me rollin on the floor laughing :D

i'm all for action and more action...but you gotta have the quiet times and calm times where peter is talking...action means nothing with no dialouge...he adds the drama to the action, the feeling....otherwise its just super powered beings meeting and fighting, fighting that really has no meaning at all. but with "maguires over acting time" as you put it, it gives the battles meaning. you sit there and say to your self, "wow, this is what he's fighting for. this is what is motivating him to keep going" or something like that :)

YES! better than how i said it

I understand what you're saying, i'm all for the emotive sceens and I agree with you. spidey has always been about a troubled youth who has to balance two lives, I just feel sometimes that they could not go as heavy handed on the hard times - to me spidey that i grew up with in the comics seemed to be able to deal with his problems with a bit more confidence and grit. It's probably just because spidey 2 was so downcast at some parts making me want to tell him to quit with the sorry state he gets himself in annalysing his life and finding problems with it - although saying that, the problems seem to find him . . . to be honest reading this i don't know if i aggree with myself, maybe i'm just having a mind fart or somthin'.

To be honest...Comics and films are both in universes of their own.

Remember that this film isn't just appealing to comic fans but a mass audience of children, teens and adults.

I know what you meen, I think it's just because i love the character of pete/spidey so much that i would liuke to see him relativly happy in one film. I do know that that does not really gel with said character and I can't see him being to happy in the third instalment - black goo, friend turned bad then dies, trouble with MJ - but it doesn't bother me too much because I love the symbiote story and i'm glad they're doing it - when i found out that he was in black and all the stuff we now know I nearly did a sex wee in my pants:)

Well he is happy at times. You've got to look at it like this. It's the basis for most film.

Introduction to characters/locations etc.

Main character discovers problem which is the catalyst for what is to come.

Middle:
Main characters problems get even more complicated.

End:
The main character will most likely solve his problems.

You've got a damn good point mate, and out of all the superheros spidey probably has the most problems which in a way makes him more involving - it seems like your good sense has got rid of my mentle wind i was suffering with. thanx - excelsior

:spidey:

and lets not forget that raimi made his own peter parker/spider-man for the films. he stood true to the comics deep down, but alter them on the top to his liking and to make it as real as possible in the movies. he's created his own spider-man world. i loved spidey 2 and thought it was awesome. the many times where he's analyzing his life was needed since he gave up being spider-man, lost his powers, wanting m.j but couldn't have her due to being spider-man (before giving it up), then due to her getting engaged...then when powers come back and becomes spidey again, then m.j comes back to him, and then he has to push her away again...that whould screw with anyone, if not everyone. so there was a need for the emotional scenes. was it too much... to me no, to others maybe, yes...but like Amazing Lee said, a balance is needed and movies are their own universe.

To be honest....it is hard to be TRUE to a comic especially with so much material. One stand alone comic would not make a good enough feature length movie.

There are SO many comics out there.

Besides the only 90% true to the comic book movie I have seen that was successful was Sin City.

But with Sin City there are only a handful of stories based around different characters...compared to the Spider-man comic books, that is.

i agree...and i wasn't saying that spider-man movies have been enitrely true to the comics...but in some of the characters and the stories they are choosing to tell, i think they are doing pretty good.

I do have my doubts on how well this film will be carried. Some of the character introductions seem like they may have been forced by the studio.

yea it seems that way...but i have complete faith in raimi...this film is going to be awesome, in my opinion

Considering Raimi IS at the helm and he did the other films justice. I do indeed have faith.

Wow. 1 year at the Hype. I've officially made it in life.

Wow thats great news! i think harry's face would be damaged due to the bomb making it all green-goblin like. lol

hey i'm game for a six hour movie

a good six hour movie... and raimi can make a great six hour spidey film :D

I'd easily be down for a six hour Spider-man movie especailly with all the villains at hand. Sandman, Venom and Green Goblin. Plus we get the hotty my hot hot Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacey. Christ almighty, I'd be happy with 6+.

Any opinions on whether these re-shoots will be on soundstages or outdoors where we might see some pictures?

If it is more action, my bet is sound stage.

Location scheduling is a b**** so it is highly likely it'll be soundstage.

I'm convinced. I was just hoping for some more photos.
