The Dark Knight TDK Talk Show Appearances

Isn't Richard and Judy ending forever soon anyway?

Loose Women and The View both suck.

I would like to see Bale, Oldman or Caine on TopGear
I thought it just started again . I would love to see the stig take the tumbler and the batpod for a ride

Bale on Top Gear would be very cool, especially if he did the track challenge.

Bale seems like a very mellow guy who takes his roles seriously, so it's understandable why he'd do Charlie Rose and Today rather than doing the usual talk show circuit. with Charlie Rose and Today, there's no studio audience to tap dance for, and you can just sit down and talk about the movie and your role and not worry about everything coming out of your mouth being a hysterical punchline to get the audience laughing. i prefer Charlie Rose when it comes to movie interviews because he actually asks questions about the movie, rather than guys like Jay Leno who can ramble on about the actor's personal life or go completely off-topic to kill time until the big plug for the movie toward the end of the interview. but don't get me wrong, it's not like i don't think Leno or the others are funny, i just prefer Rose's more informed interview style.

Bale is working on "Public Enemies" and on "Terminator 4" at the moment. Plus he said in that audio interview that while he is making movies that he dedicates himself to that so he's probably too busy to do more promotion for the film like appearing in talk shows. He's probably gonna still do normal interviews with reporters elsewhere though.

All irrelevant. Promotion for films is routinely permitted while an actor is in production on another film. These things are contractually based with the studio. If Bale isn't appearing on the late night circuit, it means its not in his contract to do so.

I am surprized that Bale is only doing one show...It's just strange that the Lead isn't doing much press for this, I wonder if he's doing that because he wants to dodge all the Ledger stuff, you know, Like not have to sit there and be bumbarded by the same question "so how was it to work with Ledger, and was he taking pills while on set, did he seem like he was in trouble?" I've seen some interviews where that's all they where asked. And I am like, Man, Let the guy rest huh...That was like what 5-6 months ago??? If I was them, I would be getting Pissed too because these people are trampiling on this mans grave

Well, a lot of stars are nervous about going on the late night shows because there's pressure for them to "be funny". A lot of times, that's why you see really serious actors show up on the early morning shows instead of the late night shows. It's no problem for Michael Caine to be spontaneous and funny, but Bale may not be comfortable in that position.

BTW, which day is Gyllenhaal on The Today Show? The 16th or the 17th. I wanna make sure I have it correct on the thread.

Since the UK premiere of TDK is on the 21st July at Leicester Square (Is anyone here going??) its certain that the cast + nolan will do the usual press junkets over in the UK, rather than going on talkshows, so keep your eyes out for things on BBC Breakfast, GMTV, Channel 5 News, Radio 1 and The Culture Show on BBC2.

Does anyone know if TDK cast will be on Charlie Rose? I have tried to write them but I don't get any response.

ReelzChannel is running "The Dark Knight Speacial" on Secret's Out hosted by Leonard Maltinon on Friday 7/11 at 7pm . TV Guide "Big Movie Premiere: The Dark Knight" on Thursday 7/17 at 8pm.

The latter.

It SHOULD mean the night of the 16th...but apparently it's not. Looking at the schedule on that link, they show the 7th as the first show for Conan, which IS a Monday. So yeah, it's the night of 17th/18th.

Damnit, I would love to see Eckhart on Conan. But then again, I would rather be seeing TDK.:o

Good catch and I believe Gyllenhaal will be on the Today show on the 16th.

Damn, I thought my thread would take off, but I suppose this one is doing the job. :yay:

Definitely have my DVR set for tomorrow night, I just hope Eckhart keeps the spoilers to a minimum because I already know WAAAY too much for my liking.

Just an FYI, looks like Sir Michael Caine is going to be honored on the 11th by putting his hand and foot prints in the cement at a ceremony in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater. That's great news...

...it's about 30 years late, but still great news!

any info if the cast will be on Oprah? i think the Matrix cast was on for when Reloaded was released. and being filmed in Chicago, Oprah seems like a possibility.

Jay Leno just said "Aaron Eckhart will be here tomorrow night from the new Batman movie. Best movie of the year, it was really really great"

Leno just called Dark Knight "movie of the year, the best thing you'll see this summer."

Leno also said "unbelievable", to add to the many quick replies for this tidbit. ;)

**** leno.

We all know the movie is gonna be great.
