Just came back from a screening in London....EPIC on every single level!! Was blown away from start to finish....beautifully written and directed, wonderfully orchestrated action sequences, and perfomed outstandingly across the board, with Eckhart, Oldman and Bale really carrying the film beautifully. Oh and Ledger....Ledger man.....one word: MEGA!!! Just MEGA!!! Best screen villain since Kevin Spacey in Se7en..... he's just that good!!

Off to see it again in the morning....can't wait!! *****

Was anyone offered money for your tickets tonight? Apparently someone at my screening was offered 80 pounds for their ticket.

No, I was offered something else, but that's for a completely other kinda thread.

Oh sh**, wait a minute . . . I've just seen The Dark Knight.

I hate to say it - but Kermode's review pretty much summed up the way I felt about the movie :csad:. I really liked it. I just didn't love it the way I loved Begins the first time I saw it.

I'll need to see it again, obviously - but it just felt as though something was missing this time around, and I can't put my finger on what it was. I think it'll have to come down to the screenplay - call me a heretic, but Begins' script, I thought, was better.

I can't vouch for your opinion Jack, but I will have to say that it does have a fair amount to stand up to, with Begins being the best Batman movie to date I can see how some people may be overhyped for TDK

Kermode didn't like it? That's a shame- he is my favorite film critic at the moment.

Glad to find this thread, by the way. It's hard to be a Batfan here, since I won't see the movie until Saturday night.

Saw it tonight, was totalyl worththe weight lol I cant be bothered to talk about it here and now because there so much things i loved and geeked out about it that i will be here forever writing.

I'm with you on that one, reg. It's been murder this last week skulking round the boards but feeling kinda out of place.

Oh, and IMAX scares me lol :(:O

No he did like it. He said he admired it, but that he was disappointed that he didn't love it. He sounded really upset that he didn't - like he really wanted to. Kinda like how I felt.

You can see his (very) short review on the Culture Show on BBC iplayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00cq38j). Starts about the 9 minute mark. I'll be very interested to tune in to Five Live on Friday to hear a more in-depth discussion by him.

Wow what can I say.....that truly was an experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Absolutely beautiful movie from start to finish. It is the Batman movie I have waited my whole life to see.

The poster I was given was pretty snazzy too

You know there was loads of posters left over, a guy sat next to me nipped out to ask for another and was told by a Odeon employee in total seriousness 'nah i'm allowed to keep these, im putting them on Ebay'

Nice Eh.

as truly blown away by the film

It shattered all of my expectations completelyI

Just got back from the Imax showing in Manchester (damn it was good) i was the guy in the **** joker shirt, i saw some people i thought might be off here but felt likea idiot if i asked, what did anyone at Manchester wear?
Were you the guy I said "I thought it sucked. No, I'm kidding, it was awesome" too? If so, I thought you worked there.

I was the following guy at the 8pm Manchester IMAX screening --

- Black jumper with rolled up sleeves (I actually had the yellow oval on my tshirt underneath, but I never took the jumper off.) jeans, longish dark brown hair with curtains, and I was wearing glasses for most of it. I looked probably about 16-17, though I'm almost 19.
- I was in the middle of the 3rd row. Damn was I feeling sick at first sat there.
- About 10 minutes before the film started, I stood up on the phone directing my buddy to where we were sat. Then appolgised for being an irritating ass to the audience. I'm such an attention ****e.
- I sarcastically shouted "You rule" to the guy who made us sing the ****ing Batman song.
- I was on the phone to my buddy who'd gone to the bathroom during the credits, informing him that "The entire fu'cking audience is still sat here man." I got some dirty looks for loudly dropping the f-bomb.
- During the end credits I stood up for about a minute, looking over the whole audience specifically so I could say I was 'that guy stood up at the end' on the forum afterwards.

(Me and one of the 2 guys I saw it with.)

I think I was at least somewhat impressionable. Did anybody notice me?

By the way I think we should now announce this thread as the "what I went to the cinema and if I met anyone, cool stories etc" kind of thread, and set up a new 'TDK UK Thread' in the spoilers board where we can actually talk about the film with our segregated country-men. Sound logical?

The film was every bit as good as I could have hoped. Sheer awesomeness start to finish. Can't really articulate my thoughts on it yet, but I will say this - this was a filmgoing experience I'll never forget.

I guess I'm destined to have controversial opinions on film franchises. I'm not saying I've definitely decided that BB>TDK yet - but it's certainly my initial reaction.

Some of my other unpopular opinions:

Godfather>Godfather II

Aliens>Alien

Terminator>T2

FOTR>TTT>>>>>ROTK

ESB>ANH>TPM>ROTJ>AOTC>ROTS

And so on...

^ to each their own. If you like some films better than others, so be it. I preferred Aliens over Alien though - and your Star Wars is close to mine too...

No that was'nt me, i never spotted you though i did hear you shout 'you rule':woot:

Was you the guy that after the credits shouted 'More' and then groaned when the Warner Brothers logo appeared?

Was anybody on here the guy that shouted 'Why so serious?'

Same though I didn't like Batman Begins, so for me it a big improvement but was still missing one or two things but I still thought it was great but didn't get that "this is the best film ever made!!!!" vibe going on.

well, i watched it last night at the vue leeds, and i dont know what surprised me more, how much it not only matched but surpassed my every expectation, or the sight of my wife, who i had dragged reluctantly along to watch ( she had initially no desire to see it, but i insisted lol) , staring open mouthed at the screen, half eaten box of popcorn forgotten as she lost herself in the movie! we are both going to see it again, and hope it does break every box office record - no other film deserves it more!

Well... after 3 years, I'm going to see 'The Dark Knight' in just a couple of hours!!

I, along with all of my friends are going to see it, and then we are heading out afterwards lol :oldrazz:.

It's a weird sensation... I just hope I like it and it's not (my biggest fear) very boring.:csad:

Well... here we go!

6 hours to go!!! I think I might walk the 8 miles to Waterloo just to pass the time...

Does it not feel weird, to everyone that has seen it, that we've seen the film? It just felt really strange to me in the cinema, almost dream like. I couldnt really tell myself I was watching a film Ive been waiting over a year to see. It was a very strange experience, if you understand what I mean.
