Teacher leaves wife and kids for high school student

I feel like I've already heard this story a thousand times.

Lol, what a brass set this man has. I love the fact that he uses, without irony, the term "stigma of the teacher-student relationship." Yeah, that's just like the "stigma of the rapist-victim relationship" or "stigma of the murderer-corpse relationship."

As a teacher, I find this crap disgusting. I'm a college instructor and wouldn't dream of hooking up with a student. I know another teacher who once did and I thought it was pretty sleazy, but nowhere near as bad as this. Being in your forties with a family and leaving them for a highschool student? No, sorry. It may be technically legal, but the guy's a scumbag. The girl may be physically mature, but emotionally she's still a kid. In a few years she'll wonder what the hell she was thinking too. And she'll know this guy exploited her too.

If that's not love, what is?

She looks like a young Delilah Strong btw.

18 is just a number. People mature at different speeds. And that is the face of a kid. Guy's a sicko.

I'm sure this has been going on before she was of age too. It's too bad no one contacted this guy.

The guy has a 17-year-old daughter that goes to the same high school he taught. ****ing creepy.

There is definitely shame in his game.

Give it a few years and she'll wake up and get sick of his old man balls.

Did he lose his job? I hope so.

edit : never mind , I see he resigned... Good. I wouldn't trust him around other students.

I imagine it will be tough to find a new teaching job after this.

"Why did you leave your last position?"
"I wanted to marry a student and quit because of the drama."

I give it a few months....hopefully.

Yeah, a few years might be a bit much. It all depends on her maturity I guess, but how mature can she actually be at that age.

After reading the article, just a few thoughts and responses:

1.) If all parties are of legal age, then I don't inherently see teacher-student relationships as immoral. They are legal, consenting adults, and thus free to make their own choices.

2.) Whatever the ages involved, teacher-student relationships are unprofessional.

3.) I do not believe this relationship was limited just to after her 18th birthday. Way too convenient that he didn't have romantic feelings for her before, but then it all suddenly changed following her 18th birthday.

4.) This guy is a skuzz ball for leaving his wife and kids for an 18 year old. He's ruining lives to chase immature tail that doesn't know what the crap she's getting into, who at best (assuming we believe his "I didn't have feelings for her until her 18th birthday" crockpot) he's been sneaking around with for less than 6 months.

I wonder if this fella is under the impression that this girl won't end up on her knees for the first guy that throws a few back-handed compliments her way. :o

2 ,3 , and 4 rule out number 1.

I have a hard time believing they waited until she turned 18

what an unfortunate last name

if she marries him she will be known as

Jordan Hooker

He just happened to fall in love with her on her 18th birthday? So he didn't do anything with her or even so much as think of her in a romantic way period until the second she turned 18. Riiiiiiiiiight. The worst part is the fact that he abandoned his family for this child. She's too young to know what love is and to him it's simply sex, pure and simple. Shows how much he cared for his children. I hope he has other skills than teaching, cause if he's going to try to get into that career field again, it's game over since the fact that his professionalism is shot down. You could do a google search and find this story, so he won't be able to really do anything involving teaching. I do hope his wife gets him for child support and all that jazz since he left her for some easy underage sex (he couldn't just settle for a secret affair like most teachers). I had a boss who was sleeping with one of my coworkers (about the same age as these two too), both consenting adults, BUT the context of it being a relationship in a boss/worker kind of way was unprofessional. Once it was discovered and proven, it destroyed the both of them in the job field.
