TED (Seth MacFarlane / Mark Wahlberg / Mila Kunis)

I was wondering if any one has the full quote from the
superman returns joke at the end of the film

I was annoyed with all the KIDS at the screening I saw. Also, lol, lightning knock out the movie twice lulz.

Dumb ass parents...

You can't go see this before 9pm, because there will be kids there regardless of the R rating.

>_< of course, baby sitters don't work before 9!

This movie was good. The cameos (!), one-liners, and of course now I have to RENT Flash Gordon. You'd think they would had mention the SyFy flop series...

You should have sung the Thunder Song.
I saw it Thursday at midnight, before the official release, and when that part came up the entire theater sang it word for word with the movie lol

I guess we all have been anticipating this movie for awhile, enough to memorize the damn song from the trailers at least. :D

-DOOM :doom:

THINK THAT WAS MORE OF A "YEAH, WE KNOW" TYPE OF LINE FOR ALL THE CRITICS SAYING THAT. PLUS IT WAS LITERALLY LIKE A 5 SECOND LINE IN THE MIDDLE OF A LONG JOKEY PARTY SCENE. NOT REALLY NECCESARY TO REMOVE IT

-DOOM :doom:

Meh, I think it was necessary because it wasn't really funny and stood out way too much.

Finally saw it. Funniest movie I've seen in years. Macfarlane did a great job.

The funniest thing about the white trash name speedrun is that he basically ran off a third of the most common American female names, period.

Some things I didn't like were:

  • The Chinese guy just yelling, "You fix wall!" and then just leaving after getting his ass kicked.
  • The scene where John was flying with Flash went on for too long, it just wasn't funny.
  • Where John was in a sailors uniform and had random sound effects. Felt kind of awkward and made me want to hurry through the scene.

Something I found hilarious was the random Apache thing with Patrick Stewart in the beginning.

Shame the Superman Returns thread is nearly dead. I would have loved to have read the comments about the Superman Returns joke

That ****** Superman Brandon Routh

I was actully wondering if there were a lot of kids when any of you went to see it I still remember when I saw Paul there was lots of them and that movie was rated R to.

Just got back from seeing this at a 9:55pm showing. The theater had a good amount of people in despite it being a late night Sunday showing. This movie was freaking hilarious! It's been a whole since I guienely laughed out loud in a theater ( well 21 jump street was also LOL worthy).

If your a fan of Seth and Family Guy then you HAVE to see this movie. Most of the major actors that do voices on the show have cameo's. And the movie even has a few cutaways that are famous on Family Guy lol. Also this movie has many memorable one liners and jokes. Just a funny movie with heart. 8/10 for me.

I wish I went to the midnight viewing now - I'm hearing decent reviews.
I feel a little proud of Seth and glad it didn't tank.

I really love how Lois was John's mom, loved this movie. This could definitely translate well into a TV series. I think he will definitely go back to these characters weather it be a sequel or maybe an eventual TV series.

And Joe was his co-worker, super weird little role, too.

Watched this yesterday, and it was pretty funny. More than a couple of unexpected cameos that were great. Definitely have that MacFarlane feel, reminded me a good deal of early Family Guy, but without going too overboard and killing the heart of the thing like that show has a tendency of doing.

It was a scene literally out of Airplane. That exact flashback happened in Airplane. It's another one of his pop-culture references. My buddies didn't get it, but I was laughing my ass off.

Haha, yeah, like me and one other dude were laughing our asses off, but no one else seemed to get it.

And that Flash Gordon sequence was perfectly stupid; I laughed my ass off there, too. I do agree about the Asian dude part, though. I think that's probably the one instance where I thought the animated TV humor really didn't translate too well.

What was the name of the song Giovanni Ribisi was dancing too while drinking his juice?

This is one instance where I wish he wouldn't.

I know Universal would pay him to go back to the well, but it's a one time thing. It's supposed to be kind of a fairy tale parody thing, so one-shotting it is the best bet.

There are so many reasons the movie TED shouldn't work, and it definitely could have been a one joke movie.
Ted deserves praise for working on so many levels.
In 1985, near Boston lonely John Bennett receives a teddy bear for Christmas,he can electronically say a few words, but
John adores the plush toy.One night he makes a wish for Ted to become real and that they become friends forever.
Wish granted due to a falling star and big laughs follow.

Director/writer Seth MacFarlane blends a raunchy buddy comedy, irreverent fractured fairy tale, and even a bit of a thriller
with a lot of hilarity and heart.
Tons of praise should be heaped upon Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis who in reality filmed their scenes with only a pair of eyes
and a frame of Ted to look upon.
Surprising celeb cameos, one liners galore, and about a thousand pop culture references add to the films hilarious moments.
Every joke doesnt work, and i like Joel McHale but he was basically portraying the same character from the film
What's Your Number?
Still you know a film has done something right when the audience swoons over and comes to care about the foul mouthed,
pot smoking Ted.
Even a subplot involving a kidnapping that starts off a bit stiff and grating becomes hilarious due to Ted's one liners and
some ultra creepy performances from Giovanni Ribisi, as a crazed stalker who idolized Ted as a child, and Aedin Mincks as his son
Robert.
Im looking forward to the DVD which will hopefully include some hilarious outtakes and scenes that were cut.
Scale of 1-10 an 8½

Saw this last night ... wasn't half bad.

Teddy's boss had me cracking up. So did Giovani Ribisi dancing to Tiffany LOLOLOL.

Ryan Reynolds turning up as the lover of Walhberg's co-worker was pretty funny too. I was the only one out of my group of friends who found the Flash Gordon theme funny. They honestly had no idea who that even was. I wanted to slap them all.
