TED (Seth MacFarlane / Mark Wahlberg / Mila Kunis)

the part that got me rolling was the motel room fight for a stuffed bear Ted was seriously kicking Wahlbergs ass :hehe:.

Definitely have that MacFarlane feel, reminded me a good deal of early Family Guy, but without going too overboard and killing the heart of the thing like that show has a tendency of doing.

If there were a sequel I hope it doesn't go overboard. MacFarlane tends to stay on something too long until it becomes unfunny.

One movie was fine but if the second movie is just MacFarlane voicing his opinions on a soapbox(Like what Family Guy is now) then it's not needed.

8/10
i thought it was great...packed crowd, the theater was roaring with laughter throughout the movie. I think the end was my least favorite part and I think Mila Kunis' character was all over the place though...one minute she's a total dude's type girl and the next she's stereotypically b-wordy...even at the end i wasn't happy with what she did nor did i care for mark whalbergs entire thing with her. Bottom line the movie should have just been ted and john.

The only line that got like loud audible groans and uncomfortable laughter both times I saw the flick was "There's an asian family next door....but they don't have like a gong or nothing, so I guess it's all right." I however busted out laughing because I'm so used to hearing that type of **** on the tv show.

I'm also glad they didn't give away the REAL version of the "Okay, so that's where we'll draw the line" part in the R-rated trailer. I was crying from laughing so hard.

"Do you think you're part of some gay beat-up underworld, like one of those gay beat-up clubs or something?"

:pal:

I did not see [BLACKOUT]Ryan Reynolds cameo[/BLACKOUT] coming. Surprised the hell outta me.

For MacFarlane's first attempt at live action directing, it wasn't too bad. It doesn't have a particular style or whatever, but if someone tries to get him to helm another comedy or something I wouldn't hate it.

It was really good, If extremely close to R rated ALF. Besides, this movie managed to have both Mila Kunis and Laura Vandervoort. The Flash Gordon stuff was cool, but I don't know if the general audience will get it.

I know Universal would pay him to go back to the well, but it's a one time thing. It's supposed to be kind of a fairy tale parody thing, so one-shotting it is the best bet.

I hope so. I really liked the film but could see Ted losing his impact.

Some things I didn't like were:

  • The Chinese guy just yelling, "You fix wall!" and then just leaving after getting his ass kicked.
  • The scene where John was flying with Flash went on for too long, it just wasn't funny.
  • Where John was in a sailors uniform and had random sound effects. Felt kind of awkward and made me want to hurry through the scene.

I think they went a little overboard on the stuff with Flash throughout the party but it was still amusing.

The only jokes I didn't care for happened during the epilogue , until they mentioned Taylor Lautner.

Yeah the Taylor Lautner thing came out of nowhere and had me rolling.

You and me both, that part got everyone by surprise in the theater lol.

Personally, I loved the palette and there were some fun camera angles.

What was the name of the song Giovanni Ribisi was dancing too while drinking his juice?

Anyone remember? I knew the song when I saw it, but I've forgotten it now and it's driving me up a wall trying to remember lol.

Tiffany- I Think We're Alone Now.

Ha, it's ironic that he would be listening to that song since he was only dancing like that because he thought he was alone.

And about the style, I thought this movie had a style to it that you won't find in other comedies.

the one newscaster pointing at the picture of Ted and going "that is what Jesus did.." over and over again is the guy who plays the voice of Cleveland Brown ;).

Almost all of the major character voice actors from Family Guy make an appearance in the movie. The only ones missing are Seth Green/ Chris and whoever does the voice for Quagmaire and Adam West.

You mean Adam West? You do realize he does his own character.:oldrazz:

That was a whole lotta unexpected Flash Gordon.

I know there were so many brats under 30 that didn't get the Flash Gordon references. It came out when I was like 2, but I actually kept up with all the cult stuff it was based in.

I liked when the guy that played Flash saw the Chinese guy as Emperor Ming.
