The stuff with Mal when Ellen Page goes down the elevator. Combine that with his refining of rising tension in Dunkirk and you got the makings of something potentially great in the genre.

Noir with a fantastical element to it would be cool too. A kind of occult Third Man type thing.

At this point anything with Nolan's name on it is an "event" film by default so...either that's a redundant descriptor designed to tell us precisely nothing, or this is gonna be something pretty huge even by Nolan's standards. Either way, I'm ready.

Hope Chris branches out a bit this time, in all honesty his schtick is wearing a little thin for me lately. Memento & The Prestige are always going to be among my favorite-flicks-ever, but the nonlinear stuff and the usual almost-parody-of-himself-by-now **** from Hans really felt out of place to me in Dunkirk. Scale aside, that whole flick honestly did nothing for me personally, he just felt like the wrong guy for it.

I dunno. Chris is this huge talent, I just wish he'd get out of his comfort zone a little, there's only so many times you can awe at the Nolan-isms before they start getting stale, and even kinda grating.
