Action-Adventure TENET

I would say Dunkirk was a better film than Interstellar and The Dark Knight Rises (two films I don't ever bother rewatching).
I don’t rewatch those films much but I will see TDK and Inception a hell of a lot more over the rest of my life.

I wouldn't mind if Nolan did a movie like Hugh Jackman's "Prisoners" or "The Lovely Bones"

While I don’t think Dunkirk has the rewatch value of other Nolan films, I still see it as a high point in the guy’s career. It’s fascinatingly bare and shows the guy’s mastery of spectacle. By design, it looses some engagement outside the big screen but damn if Hardy’s storyline isn’t one of the most affecting Nolan’s crafted. The shot of the plane burning is pretty much iconic.

One of the few affecting moments, IMO.

I wonder if Nolan's wife ever gets concerned by the dead wives in a lot of his movies.

Christopher Nolan wears a long black turtleneck/

Emma walks in and sighs at the start of a new script.

Nolan: Bloody brilliant! This time the wife is not going to know she is dead the whole time. They will never see this coming...unless I shoot outside with Marion Cotillard.
Emma: Another dead wife character. Bloody hell.
Nolan: This is all I know, dear. This is all I know.
Emma: Fine. Just don't cast Chastain, she is more depressing than Marion's death scene in Rises.
Nolan: They never saw that twist coming!

I hope it’s Chastain, just for you. ;)

Seriously though, I do want to see her get another shot at a Nolan film after the lackluster role she got in Interstellar.

Nothing lackluster about her role in Interstellar. Hope she'll be back, too, despite her being a tool IRL.

Dunkirk is so relentless and I totally get why it's not really an enjoyable ride for a lot of people. But damn, that ending floods me with goosebumps. The way it pays off the 3 converging is just too perfect and completely justified that approach to telling the story. You can say what you will about Nolan, but the dude really knows how to end a film.

I also think he definitely did pull himself out of his comfort zone in different ways with Interstellar and Dunkirk. Yes, he's still making spectacle films for IMAX but I think he's showing that he can stay fresh artistically within that space.

I think if Nolan had complete and total control, his characters would be more like chess pieces in a design to the point where they wouldn't be engaging at all. That's only if his worst instincts took over. I know Nolan gets criticized for being cold and distant, but what's most important is if they're engaging and empathetic. I always thought that was unfair. Those are the types of films he makes. And he's not devoid of heart and emotion where he needs it to be. Harvey Dent, Bale and Jackman in The Prestige, TDKR. And he's not opposed to it. He made Interstellar which was him tackling a more emotional story. While the execution wasn't perfect it shouldn't detract from the intent. The point is, Nolan is perfectly capable of heart and emotion, it's just done in his own way. It shouldn't be criticized for the fact that it is, it should be criticized by how it's executed. Hence why the criticisms for Interstellar were fair. You can't blame the guy for trying though.

What are the odds that this new movie is that rumored porn movie?

Does Chris Nolan even know how to make a bad movie?

I doubt it.

That doesn't really strike me as an ''event film''. Isn't that what WB called it?

If it is then I expect Tom Hardy to appear in a S&M gimp mask lol.

He won't even have to change his surname.

If that happens, then they should repeat the dialogue from The Dark Knight Rises with Aidan Gillen and Tom Hardy both in this new movie.

Some folks are saying he is doing 'Reminiscence' written by Lisa Joy of Westworld fame.

Has a redhead female lead.
Set in a Blade Runner type world
Action set pieces.
Love story.

Also, I have that script.

It’s not perfect but it’s a good script. Might be too similar to Inception though with the idea of a technology that allows someone to access memories. I can see Nolan loving it though especially with
her dying at the end
:o

Correctomundo! Also, I expect him and his brother to go through the script and change it as they please, kinda like they did on Interstellar. IF this is indeed his next project.

My lead would be Amy Adams.

Yeah... Ugh she’s SO perfect for it. My dream is for it to be her 4th collaboration with Bale but it’s not looking likely with Bale’s next being with DOR. So I’ll settle for Amy and whoever.

The only thing holding me back is I think Jonah might want to direct it instead. But then again, he’s busy with Westworld.

Probably be Gosling or Phoenix. Both have a clear schedule.

If not Adams, I could see Emma Stone as the lead too.

OOH. Nolan's version of Blade Runner!

Gosling/Emma or Adams/Phoenix would be a good combo.

But the biggest question is which veteran actor will Nolan pull out of obscurity this time?
