Action-Adventure TENET

Must’ve seen a digital camera.

Wow, Nolan really has a filmmaker crush on Damien Chazelle. I remember him praising Whiplash at the time, saying he saw La La Land 3 times in theaters, and now he just gave First Man a nod in a list that was entirely comprised of older films. Interestingly, I did think First Man was a pretty Nolan-ish type of film.

Cool list though, thanks for sharing.

Judging by the set pics it already looks like a Nolan movie with the large filming locations like "Dunkirk" and that Russian building

I was so convinced he was gonna have Ryan Gosling as his lead in this because he kept praising First Man and La La Land so much.

Solid list despite not being too keen on Malick. I'm happy to see Topkapi, Koyaanisqatsi and Lawrence of Arabia on there. I was able to catch a 70MM showing of Lawrence on the big screen and it was incredible. Looks great on that Blu/4K release but seeing it in the theater in that scope was something else. Was also able to see Koyaanisqatsi in the theater (as well as Baraka) and those films kind of put you under a spell.

I gotta see that at some point, but the almost 4-hour runtime is intimidating.

That's a lot of extras already. Nolan not holding back on the vast it seems.

Ah, Nolan and his extras... a forever love/hate affair.

That set piece looks so cool. I love that Nolan shoots at real locations with tons of extras.

Personally, I think the rumors about this being long have spun way out of control based on a flimsy quote from Pattinson. It's quite possible Pattinson was merely referring to the 7 month shoot being "long", because I doubt he's ever worked on a movie that shot for that long. Unless someone has that quote and can show that he was specifically referring to the length of the script.
