Action-Adventure TENET

Action movies and adventure films.
Is this due to stay in cinemas for a while in the UK? Currently isolating until Thursday after a holiday but want to try and catch this.

It is supposed to be out for awhile yet.
WB is going to leave Tenet in theaters for as long as they can.

Looks like it made another $3.4M this weekend. I wonder how much of a jump this movie will get in box office once the LA and NYC theaters open up. I mean if you really wanted to see it, you would probably already have gone out of town/city/state to a theater that’s open. There might be some people who are living in LA and NYC who are waiting for a theater to open in their area to see this movie but I feel like that might be a small amount.

Considering the dire state LA is currently in, I wouldn’t count on LA theaters opening up soon.

They're open in Anaheim at least.

While I was disappointed, I am wanting to see this one more time at least in IMAX since that's the way it was meant to be viewed.

I still think forcing this in theaters right now was stupid, marketing campaign or no. Considering it's made $283 million worldwide, all that really tells me is that they released this when theaters were operating normally it likely would've done a lot better.

Yeah. I mean, you can argue about prioritizing which industries should receive support due to finite resources, but when an entire industry is threatened with collapse due to the external factor of "Natural disaster"? That is the correct time to be asking for a government bailout. Much moreso than when, say. . . banks get themselves into trouble because of their own risky lending practices.

Hopefully the tepid results from the last few movie releases, involved PVOD, convince the movie studios themselves that they *also* should give the theaters some help. After all, if 90% of theaters are closed a year from now, it won't matter if the pandemic is over, Hollywood still will lose a ton of revenue.

Congress has been bailing out private enterprises left and right. I don’t see why they won’t do this one. It’s the common people congress doesn’t care for.

If the whole theater industry were to tank, that'd include a lot of "common people" losing their jobs.

That, and a lot of the local theaters are locally-owned small businesses in the first place.

My mother inquired to me about this movie yesterday. She was asking me all sorts of questions about what the film was about and I genuinely couldn't explain it to her in simple terms. The more she asked, the more I couldn't answer. :funny:

I tried explaining Arrival to my parents but it was a lost cause.

I think now is the perfect time for the theater industry to ask for bailout money but I don’t think Congress will take it seriously or make it a priority. The Arts aren’t exactly a major concern for the politicians (as sad as that may be).

People do realize that there are current, ongoing negotiations for a bailout/stimulus package, right? Now is the time to ask.

Yeah and I doubt movie theaters are going to be on the top of the list right now.

Don't have to be top of the list but saying this isn't the time for the theater industry to be lobbying for help is pretty nonsensical.
