Todays crowd can keep the furious series honestly and Ill keep my older action movie. Thats the problem I have with todays action genre, all style and no substance. Now all you need is steroids and a superhero costume and bam your an action star. Aside from chris pratt who does have that old school feel to him nobody really today has that IT factor like arnold and the boys did. At some point stunt junkies using cgi cars for dumb things will wear thin.

Weren't those guys on steroids?

If anything it opened up to people believing Matt Damon could kick ass.

Eh, we have as many "classics" today as we did back in the day. We just only remember the classics of old.

But the last decade? TDKT, Fury Road, TWS, GotG, Bourne, Edge of Tomorrow, Ghost Protocol, etc. Fury Road is every bit as good as any of the great 80s/early 90s films. And that includes T2.

Well, I just saw someone comparing it to slavery. I don't know how a movie can offend someone so much. But yes, box office and rottentomatoe threads can be very entertaining.
I saw the slavery thing as well, hyperbole doesn't even begin to cover it.

Eh it seems to me like a lot of fanboys only accept Rotten Tomatoes and box office as a barometer of quality when the film is made by Marvel. Avengers is the best movie ever because of rotten tomatoes and box office but movies in the same position like Jurassic World and Furious 7 are the worst things ever and their critical and audience reception means nothing.

It's ******** and I'm sick and tired of it. Dislike whatever you want but don't play the double standards game.

F7 is the worst thing ever. I still can't believe I sat through that. When you make AotC look good, yeah. :funny:

Still better than Tomorrowland. :cwink: :oldrazz:

Neither F7 nor Tomorrowland are bad, imo. They're not great, but not bad, either.

Lies!!! :o

Let me pitch you a movie flick. I want a movie where our lead characters only mission is to find and kill a specific man. And lets have this man continually show up to attack our lead characters, exposing himself to their hunt, but lets have the heroes just continually run away to search for the mcguffin needed to find the guy that is right there in front of them every time they go some place new. There is stupid and then there is Furious 7. :funny:

For all its potential faults, Tomorrowland at least has the awesomeness of the leading actresses.

You seem to be under the impression that the plot matters one iota in the Fast films, Darth. In which case...you're watching them wrong. :oldrazz:

Five proved they could do it right. There is no excuse after Five. :csad:

Though this does remind me of the new, "it is the best since the original" idea we got with JW and now Genisys. Well, it is not necessarily good, but it is better then the last few horrible movies they gave us. :funny:

Well, it doesn't exactly work with this franchise, since there are 2 amazing films to compete with.

Cameron's films have now been separated from the other two. So when they say the "original" that is what they mean. :funny:

Why did Arnold have to come back? Why couldn't they have cast a new actor to play a Terminator. Do all Terminators have to look like Arnold? I just can't get past old ass Arnold still playing an ageless robot. I don't give a crap about that aging skin nonsense. It's ridiculous that he is back playing a robot.

Good thing Jurassic World didn't needlessly bring back the old cast and decided to move forward. Sure the film is practically a remake but it's a covert one so nobody's toes have been stepped on.

Wasn't that the one where they had a scene contrived to get Gal Gadot in a bathing suit and talk about her butt? :o
As a Gal Gadot fan, that didn't make much sense. Her nice bottom is only like 6th on her list of hotness. :oldrazz:

Arnold is back because they couldn't get Cameron back. He is the only tie they could make to the old movies. But it just looks ridiculous with everyone else being recast so horribly. Well except for Jason Clarke, who apparently will only catch three acting breaks in his entire career. The guy is too good for this. :csad:

Because he said he'll be back. yuck yuck yuck!

Brie Larson somehow didn't get the role. I know I keep harping on it and usually I wouldn't but I can't get over it.

Some of the nerd community's butt hurt about Jurassic World's success has given me endless amounts of pleasure.

Anyway, James Cameron's friend is in the film, he doesn't need to be paid to endorse it.

That was surprising, many posters on the net can be seen downplaying the movie's success and labeling it as "bad movie", it is amusing.

I don't understand why they feel threatened by JW's success, having said that, not every dead franchise will get the same amount of success.

SPIDEY, once I saw that, I knew there was something wrong. I have watched enough of both Larson and Clarke to realize there is no contest. Especially in such a role. Larson was like a gift from heaven if you were looking for another Sarah. But nope, they went with the "name". Though all things considered now, it seems to be a blessing.

I'm surprised at the hate as well.
Most of the whiners probably don't have kids and Lack understanding on what value a family movie has. JW is a film that spans across all ages, kids to teens to adults. You make more money when you can sell more tickets, it's not rocket science.
JW can't hold Fury Roads jock, but did I take my 6 & 8 year olds to see it? No way. It's a R rated movie, thus why it never had a chance of steamrolling the BO. You limit your audience & ticket sales. Again, it's not rocket science.
I know people who think the Avengers is too violent for kids.....

Probably something that should've been done much sooner to have any real effect. I don't know...going back and playing all your old characters (I've heard he's reprising Conan) seems like a waste of time when you can start fresh.

Always thought comic fans would be happy since JW seeing success like this means it gives people a break from a superhero movie being the one to make the superhero headlines. When movies are break-out successes like this, I believe it keeps the fictional "superhero fatigue" from actually becoming real.
