No, not at all, just odd... I assumed that the general consensus was that it's great. Haven't met anyone who didn't like it.

PR was a huge disappointment. I was literally groaning while watching it in the theater.

If you don't want to see a sequel, don't go see a sequel. Pretty simple.
I for one want to see another one, and I'm sure I'm not alone. The movie made almost a half-billion dollars. Denying that a sequel is probably going to happen is delusional, lol. Just stay home that weekend.

The issue is not "will". The issue is "should".

I would see a sequel for sure, just hope they get a different director next time.

Fortunately, Forbes suggests even under the circumstances, Paramount would still be wise to not jump into a sequel.

On top of that, China numbers are inflated from the blackout.

And still sinking fast, despite having the market all to itself.

Genisys has performed very similar to Mummy 3 and Narnia's Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Good enough for the studio to breathe a sigh of relief but not something that justifies fast-tracking a sequel.

Paramount shot itself in the foot dating two back-to-back sequels before the release of Genisys.

They should allocate whatever funds they have left in their Terminator fund, ready to be invested in their supposed sequel, into their Mission: Impossible fund, thus allowing for Cruise's sixth and potentially last entry in the franchise to go out with a bang featuring the team dynamics of the fourth *and* the villainous menace of the third.

I loved this movie , everything i hoped for and more i loved that game of thrones Khaleesi was sara conner, she did an awesome job, Arnold is the original , and still is , watch this movie , effects were awesome! ***** five stars

Is that you Arnie ?

I thought that Emilia Clarke was perfect as Sarah Connor certainly much better than I expected her to be given that she is on Game of Thrones and all but Arnie he was perfect as Pops especially that scene where he was fighting his 1984 self his younger self or even the fight scene with him and John Connor the T-3000 I thought that was done perfectly as well

Now Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, that was bad casting overall in my opinion

But instead of the T-3000 being the villain instead of turning John Connor into a Terminator they should have made Matt Smith's character of Alex the T-5000 the main villain

Not spending another penny on Terminator sequels. Burnt far too many times. T:G was nothing short of a DISGRACE easily in my 5 top worst movies of the year along with Jupiter Ascending, Tomorrowland, Fant4stic (:whatever:) and The Minions. Utter rubbish.

The only good thing coming from those sequels, is that Terminator 3 went from "worst Terminator movie" to "Top 3 Terminator movie" :D

Keep them coming, make T3 look better I say.

I would curious to se how people think Genysis matches up with T3 and Salvation. I have never though T3 was that bad and I actually enjoyed both Salvation and Genysis in the cinema, Salvation got worse and worse on repeat viewings for me though, I wonder if ?Genysis will be the same?

I liked T3 overall, I can see where the criticism are coming, with the goofyness and all, but I loved the cast, even the portrayal of John Connor, and the concept behind his characterization, and in some ways I think it makes more justice to the tone of the original than T2.

Salvation was unwatchable for me, I left the theater in anger. It shows how McG likes to emulate the worst of Michael Bay. Genesys left me an almost similar level of anger, not as bad, but certainly terrible and, as Salvation, not a really Terminator movie for me.

I just can't like T3 , I have tried .
Perhaps if they had cast a better terminatrix, Kristanna Loken didn't cut it

But back then who could they really have casted as the T-X in 2003 for Rise of the Machines? If anything I thought Kristanna Loken she was perfectly casted as the T-X and Nick Stahl he wasn't that bad as John Connor he was not good but he was an all right John Connor but personally if they brought Furlong back as Connor back in 2003 it would have been a nightmare given how much of a hot mess Furlong was back in 2003 so I can see why they went in a different direction casting-wise and Claire Danes she was perfect as Kate Brewster

But Terminator 4, Terminator Salvation now that Terminator movie was horrible certainly much worse than Genisys if anything Genisys is way better than Salvation are you kidding me? Sam Worthington and Christian Bale almost killed the franchise along with McG and not to mention Arnold he wasn't even in Salvation it was a CGI Arnold not the real thing

I can't love T3 at all, especially the characterization of John Connor. It's the odd character progression between T2 and T3. In T2, we have a bright young boy who's quick to make decisions and is able to stand on his own two feet for the most part. From the information T2 gives us, we have a John Connor who, at the age of 10, is able to be prepared for a nuclear war.

And then in T3, John's still hanging around Los Angeles armed with a paintball gun. For whatever reason, he can't distinguish between human and dog medication, and he's easily disarmed by a veterinarian. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me to see John Connor go from competent to clumsy. Especially after living a huge chunk of his life learning how to survive, lead, and fight in an apocalypse.

There's a decent story in T3, it's just poorly executed.

The tone that the director chose was just completely wrong and this extends to the cinematography. It was just too slick' and 'bright' for a Terminator movie.

Never mind the fact that it almost played like an action comedy at times.

Terminator genisys was amazing.
The hate for Jai Courtney is pathetic. Just comes across as jealous fanboys.
The action was great and the movie gave us something new and addressed some of the issues from the older films.
Don't think the American movie audience/domestic total really matters as it used to be.
Just because Arnold hasn't got the box office appeal as he used to in America doesn't mean he isn't relevant or should retire. He still matters to the rest of the world.

I like T3 as well, have done since I saw, I can why some didn't like the tone, but I find it a lot of fun. It's not close to the first 2 in terms of quality, but I like that it brings back Judgement Day being inevitable like it was in T1, I also thought the ending was ballsy as hell and Stahl was decent as JC for me, by the end he embraces his destiny.

Agree with both of you about Salvation, I didn't find Worthington bad at all, he was probably the most interesting character, but Bale was a disappointment, and it got so many of the little things wrong. Like being able to move around by day and having to stay down at night, in T1 the total opposite was stated, it's such a lazy mistake to make. The T-600 was all wrong as well and the T-800 was far too indestructible.

Genysis for me at least introduced a new threatening villain, as well as doing something new with the timeline. I just in the sequel, Sarah and Kyle go into the future to try and save John from becoming a machine.

If anything since Genisys is doing so well overseas it pretty much warrants a sequel to be made and if it does happen the Genisys sequel then I just hope that they have Sarah and Kyle travel to the future but then if that happens then I wonder how Arnold would fit into the sequel especially if Sarah and Kyle go to the future to stop Alex/Skynet from turning John into a T-3000?

I dare you to disagree me that Genisys sucked compared to Salvation

Accepted. I finally caught up with Genisys today. It's the worst Terminator movie. 3 & 4 aren't very good, but they have moments and sequences that work. I thought literally nothing worked in this movie.

100% agreed. And I didn't care for the actor portraying John Connor either.
